Lap Pre-op

Hello can anyone tell me how long a lap preop usually lasts and what they do? Have my laperoscapy booked for 22nd of October.

Hi id say max of an hour depending if you have questions for the nurse they go through any medical history any previous ops ect they explain what the op is they also check ur weight blood pressure hight do a pregnancy test mrsa swabs from ur groin and nose and take bloods good luck xxx

I was there about an hour, it was very straightforward and the nurse who did mine was lovely (which I think makes a big difference in this kind of situation) x

Thanks for the replies. Not sure what the treatment will be will I discuss that with the consultant at preop? The laparoscopy is to confirm or dismiss endometriosis.

Hi iv never seen my consultant at a preop its just the nurse but it should say on your pink op form but the nurse will discuss what is planned xxx

Aw thanks for replying. Think its the not know what they might do that's frustrating can't plan anything you know us women like to prepare!

We defo do : ) any questions you have ask the nurse you have a right to know what is going to happen whether its just a lap for diagnosis or for removal of Endo if its found b4 all my laps b4 I went down my gyne came to see me so u can always ask then xx
