What to expect from a pre op appt (lap)?

Just wondering what to expect from this as I've just realised my period is due that day and I'm normally in bed for most of it in agonising pain.

My anxiety appreciates any helpful replies xx

All they’ll do is take blood, blood pressure and urine samples and give you a chance to ask any questions you may have xx

as mcmbx says, mine also did weight, height, a run through of dietary requirements, confirm you know what you're in for and the date (if you've been given that yet), allergies, past ops and any complications / issues.

Sorry to just randomly post but I have my pre op on Friday and my lap was supposed to be on the 12th July but was cancelled for some reason till the 31st July

At my pre op would I be able to ask for an earlier date or not as my symptoms are getting worse.

they can't rearrange appointments at the pre-op, it's purely a check up of stuff before your op

I think that really depends on the hospital and waiting list and such. I'd ring your doc and ask. Good luck xx

You’d just most likely be offered to be put on a cancellation list, the nurses at your pre-op can’t guarantee an earlier date x
