Evening all, today I had a letter to confirm my surgery. When I spoke to my consultant they said they wouldn't be able to do a laparoscopy it would be a laparotomy but my letter says going in as a day case, does this sound right?
Thanks in advance

Most laparoscopy is done as a daycase its a diagnostic. More likely an inpatient if you need stuff done like endo removal. A laparotomy ie open incision is never a day case. I think you may have misunderstood at your appointment. Phone and query it, they won't mind.
I thought that, managed to get through today and the lady I spoke to said oh yes day surgery, I requested to speak to my consultant to which she asked some questions, asked me to hold then said oh yes you are mean to stay in please bring an overnight bag, we she did apologise saying they had new staff. At least I have peace of mind now was worried I'd be sent home way too early
