Hi, do u have a back injury or any other known cause for sciatica? If not it could be referred pain from endo, rather than true sciatica. For example, endo on the uterosacral ligaments can cause pain that runs down the back of the leg, I get this although it's not shooting or sharp like true sciatica, more of an ache. If you have not been diagnosed, imaging (i.e MRI) should be able to confirm/ rule out any nerve impingement which may be causing sciatica.

Good luck.

Hi ive allways suffered with back pain but after having my daughter 17mnth ago its really bad and the pain in my leg is awfull, the physio no ive got endobut never said anything,im hoping they refer me to consultant for mri,coz i havent seen one yet,it was just a referral from gp to physio. My endo is playing up alot more now with irregular bleeding an very heavy periods

Yes mri would be a good avenue to take to rule out any obvious causes of sciatica. If it's not sciatica then you could consider follow up with a gynae for your endo. Endo anywhere could cause back pain really, from my reading it's a universal symptom suffered by many endo sufferers.

B4 I got preggy I went to my gyno coz of problems I've been pushing for another lap but just keep fobing

me off to try the coil which I will refuse, so they were gonna give me an injection to shut my ovarys down, but wen I had a preggy test it said borderline wtf so they never gave me it I wasn't preggy at that time,it's like they just don't want to give me another lap,wen I first had one is wen they discovers endo an pollops on me womb

I agree with Meekos above. In addition however there is another condition similar to endo called adenomyosis which can also cause sciatic pain. It did for me. I had dreadful pains down the backs of both thighs daily and even one day where the pain spread to my ankle and I couldn't walk. It felt like my ankle was sprained. Adeno effects the muscle of the uterus walls and symptoms can be similar to endo. Not suggesting you have Adeno, just in may be another avenue to explore if other possible culprits have been ruled out. Best wishes, Jo

My understanding is that adenomyosis IS essentially uterine endometriosis. Do you have endo anywhere else (if you don't mind me asking).

Adeno and endo are considered separate but related diseases. Whilst endo does not develop inside the uterus like Adeno can, when comparing invasive Adeno to severe endo under a microscope they look virtually identical. I did have both endo and Adeno but hope to be free of both now 4 months post excision surgery for endo and hysterectomy for Adeno. Unfortunately given the symptoms are similar it's hard to know which disease was causing which symptoms but, although still early days and I am still really healing from almost 7 hours of surgery, my symptoms seem to be gone (touch wood) and apart from a recently broken foot 😒 I'm doing well!

Yes, makes sense, the link that my specialist was referring to was regarding deeply infiltrating or invasive endo to adeno. Possibly that it looks the same, just different locations. All the best for your ongoing recovery. Including your foot.
