Surgical stockings

Anyone else been advised to keep these on for 4 weeks after hysterectomy, ovaries out and excision surgery? Also had part of bladder removed but all is going well and I do a short walk every day. Im 3 weeks post op and cant wait to take these nasty stockings off x

I had very similar surgery and whilst they wouldn't commit to a definite time frame they told me to continue wearing them until I was "back to full mobility". I wore them for about a week then stopped!

However I made sure I was up and walking for at least a few mins every hour, except when sleeping at night obviously!

I didn't find them uncomfortable though fortunately!

Perhaps check with your GP?

Thanks Jo.....think I might compromise and wear them just at night when I'm definitely not mobile xx

I had similar op adominal and excision not bladder with complications / return to theatre to be reopened. I had to have injections for a few weeks and stockings - I was advised until you are more mobile I definitely wore them at night but it took 2-3 weeks to become this so gradually I wore them less got an airing after a shower which was nice xx
