Hi yes you can have sciatica caused by Endo, its is a widely unrecognised symptom though.

I have confirmed Endo in the Obturator internus muscle which is deep in the pelvis also it is down the side of my cervix. Sciatica was my first symptom. All the pain radiates from my lower back around underneath me and down my right leg. When I twist my foot inwards I get a shooting pain at the area where the bottom crease is between leg and bottom.

If you think you have this please be forceful and request a second opinion, it can happen although said to be rare, could just not be being diagnosed. Show your Doctor my post maybe?

Endo can grow on the sciatic nerve but this is rare as is the situation outlined by Vickytorias.

However, endo adhesions or cysts within the pelvis can press on organs and nerves causing nerve pain such as sciatica going down the backs of the legs. This is more common. Proper surgery by an endo specialist would help.

I have endo and get very bad sciatic pain, in fact it was through investigations for that endo was diagnosed. I could barely walk for over 3 months and X-rays / mri's on my back didn't show up. I told the back specialist that it was worse during my period so he mri'd my pelvis and found that my endo had created a fibroid that tied my uterus backwards into my sciatic nerve. A laparoscopy has helped but I still get pain each month.

Try to get an mri on the pelvis if you can.

Good luck.
