Hi everyone,

I'm new! I had my first laparoscopy last month and my suspected endometriosis was confirmed and diathermied. I'm having all sorts of problems with my immune system though and wondered if anyone was similar!! I'm starting to feel like a total idiot, always catching whatever seems to be around.

Work haven't been great about it and if I'm honest I'm fed up of being ill. The doctor suggested there was no link? But I'm not convinced!!

Do you lovely ladies have any advice on this?

Thanks in advance x

Hi. Sorry to hear that you aren't feeling well. I have also recently been diagnosed with Endometriosis and Adenomyosis. I also have a under active thyroid gland. I also always feel run down, any bug my children get I get 10x worse I seem like I constantly have a cold. I feel exactly the same as you I'm so fed up of myself being unwell all the time I've forgotten what it's like to feel normal. I think there must be a link as Endometriosis is inflammation in the body. I always have a runny nose which isn't a cold and i think it's due to my immune system being bad.

I hope this helps.

It does help thank you! It's becoming abit of a joke!! Do you take any special vitamins or anything? I had read so much conflicting advice about what strengthens the immune system!!

I have the same nose issue so you could definitely be on to something there! I did have anemia due to the endo and just assumed my constant illness was due to that, but it doesn't seem to have gotten any better!!

Thanks so much x

That's ok you are welcome. The only vitamins I take on a regular basis is vitamin c in a high does and Echinacea and they do seem to help a bit.

I have literally just posted asking if anyone takes and supplements that help with pain or bleeding as I feel constantly run down all the time. I was anemic to due to bloodless and tried taking iron but that seems to cause more bowel pain. The Gp said having spinach would be a better option and thay did seem to help though I don't like the taste.

Hope that helps might be worth a try a lot of people say echinacea is the best thing for immune system.

Hmmm it just so happens I have those in my cupboard I'll definitely try it and see what happens! Thanks so much for that! Iron tablets gave me awful heartburn so I take spa tone iron water you can get it from tesco or boots. Just put it in a small glass of juice I use apple!! It's much better absorbed by the body apparently but I have found it works!!

Right I'll try enchincea and possibly stick to some super nutritious smoothies and see if it works!!

I did find a specific site recently when researching that focused on supplements! I'll see if I can find the link and post it for you!

Thanks x

Yes it's definately worth a try I hope it helps you. That's interesting about the water I've never heard of that i will have a look for that. Yes juicing is something I have done since I started feeling unwell and that di help on some days but on really bad days not so much. Thank you I have just seen the reply to supplements. I will definately have a look and let you know how I get on.

Hi Lindle, your information is truly greatly received. As I am sure you can guess my tendency to pick up any kind of virus around is not my only worry. I too have a myriad of weird symptoms that I have started to think have nothing to do with the endometriosis. I'd convinced myself I must have hundreds of things wrong with me.

Your post on that autoimmune factors has been so helpful, thank you! It's easy to think that you are exaggerating everything as is suggested by doctors.

If you have any additional advice I would very interested to hear it! But again my sincere thanks.
