Hi there, I have exactly the same issue, I work out 3-4 times a week, eat no more than 1800 calories a day and still cannot lose weight. I am convinced it's the endo! My friend has pco and also has weight issues. So you are not alone! My friends keep telling me it's because I am not 'over weight' which medically speaking my BMI is 24 so I am not. But I feel I am carrying too much weight on my stomach and want to lose some! I have decided recently after watching a bbc programme about diets, I am going to try the 5:2. Hopefully that will shift a few pounds!

Best of luck with your journey x

Does your endo hurt all the time or just near your period? I am curious, because I can't exercise at all without me being in horrific pain for the next 2 days following said exercise.

I only get the major pain leading up to, during and after my period. As I am tricycle on my pill I only have one every 3 months. But saying that if I do too much cardiovascular exercise I get pains, so I have to vary with weights.

I feel your pain! I'm holding a lot of water and when I get on my scales it tells me I've lost fat but gained water so I weigh the same! I'm losing motivation.

Sometimes though, being too good can hinder a diet. I stick to about 1300 calories a day and eat more when I exercise. Low carb, high protein, lots of water. Usually works but not this time!

Good luck and I hope you make progress soon x

What kind of diet are you doing? I also have pcos and stage IV endo. For me, I carry my weight around my belly and the only successful diet I have done recently was to cut out all sugar, wheat and processed food. I also had to increase the amount of calories I was eating (as I exercise 4 times a week) but eat more good fats and protein and loads of green veg. I was unsure of this at first but I lost almost a stone after struggling to lose weight for years. I did this following a tailored diet from a nutritionist. Since I've read lots about how pcos and endo are linked with blood sugar levels and insulin. I need to be strict again after eating far too much over Christmas!!

Have you looked at the endo diet? It's hard going very difficult at first, I managed to keep it up for a couple of months a couple of years ago and then life kind of made it hard to stick to and I waived off it. Because it's designed to help endo there is no calorie counting it is just sticking to the items that are safe to eat, weight loss is just a happy side effect for anyone wanting to lose weight. I still now use a lot of coconut oil in cooking and find between that! Drinking hot water with a slice of lemon and peppermint tea help me keep any water retention off and keeps me more focused on eating healthy.

I only have suspected pcos and confirmed endo and wouldn't like to say it would work for you but might be worth a search around for some info?

Not what you're looking for?
