I'm awaiting my 4th surgery for my endo. It's now been found on my diaphragm. Quite extensive for only being 23. But I could be waiting until November for my surgery and don't think I could cope with the pain and bleeding for that long. I've tried everything I can think of to get my surgery quicker. Any1 else any hints??

I have had on going problems and I have had to reduce my hours at work and I have had numerous days off sick. My partner and I called my surgeons secretary who wasn't any help so we went through the hospital liaison officer and I wrote a heart felt letter directly to my surgeon and within a few days I received a call to say I am going in on Monday for surgery. May be worth a try. Hope u feel better soon. Xxx
Hi cazzy thanks so much for your reply. I'm a nurse and I'm off work so much when it's bad. I've written to my consultant and the head of the trust I've had my local politation contact them too and they are still telling me it could be November at the very latest even after being on the urgent waiting list since October 2014. I realy can't think of what else to do.
I'm Northern Ireland. Been on the waiting just since 29th October but the waiting time is averaging 44 weeks. I'm hoping I can get referred to England and get treated quicker but that's taking some time to arrange. i just don't think I can cope much longer x
Aoife, I had private surgery for endo stage 4 in the Ulster Independent Clini in Belfast. Before I went I had a lap in rep of Ireland and the consultant there told me I would need extensive surgery with at least 3 other surgeons (bowel, urologist and cardiothoracic). I made appointment and the endo specialist there told me he was confident he could sort it himself. I was nervous but he was so confident and its what he does every day. It was amazing and the cost was only quarter of what I thought. It is worth arranging an appointment and talking it through. U might be surprise at how much it costs, I know I was. We were expecting a bill of £20,000 and it was only quarter of that. I know it's still a lot of money but it is achievable. The consultation only cost £150 but it was worth it to get his expertise. Even if you only pay to see what he has to say...
I got my surgery within 3 weeks of my first consultation with him.
Brohazy I have seen my own consultant privately as he works in the ulster independent he has looked into it but as il need a bilary surgeon to help my with my surgery and they will be operating on my diaphragm he feels it is not appropriate to have my surgery in the ulster independent. I would pay anything to have this surgery done and get my life back.
Aw that's too bad Aoife. I was fortunate enough that he would do the surgery in the clinic although he didn't go near the endo on my diaphragm. That needs a hospital not a clinic. I guess that's one surgery I'm gonna have to revisit down the road sometime.
I really hope they get u sorted soon. It's no fun to wait. My advice is to keep phoning asking for cancellation spots etc. make sure the secretary knows u by name. They are only human too and if they are constantly hearing from u and know Ur pain/situation, they will more than likely try to help. God bless
