Hi ladies! First off merry Christmas! Secondly, I've been booked In for a lap and dye through my tubes for end of feb. I've had three laps before and can't remember for the life of me, how long I had off work. I remember I felt quiet sick after. Any advice how long I should tell work I need off?

It really depends on what they do. I had three incisions and no lazaring (too risky due to where the endo was found) and I was signed off for a week. Also depends on what you do for a job. I sit at a desk but if you were on your feet all day you may need longer. I found that I was still a little soar driving after a week. It's surprising how much you use your tummy when driving! I'd take at least a week but some ladies go back sooner. Hope this helps xx

1 week for my first lap, as it was a look around lap. 2 weeks for the second lap, as it was a removal and clean up. I would have been happy with 3 weeks for that second lap.

Thank u so much ladies, I knew I could count on your guys to know. Thanks for the heads up blondielocks. I've had a lap before but never had dye in my tubes so handy to know! I think I'll prepare to be off at least a week and keep my diary at work free ish for three just in case. I work in one of those jobs where once your back, your back and no allowances made for Ill health.

I'm glad I'm not the only one who has a job where u are back end off whether fit or not. In terms of the lap I would say a week or so if it's just a look but 2-3 weeks if it's a treatment lap. Good luck with your op when it comes round

I have recently had my first lap and did not really take in to account the seriousness. Only had 5 days off, and while I went back and did not do my full job (I work in the psychology department of a psychiatric hospital) for a further week I was exhausted. Also think pushing myself too much so soon after has led me to getting tonsillitis now

I think it all depends on what they're doing, I am booked in for a lap in March and was told I would need a good three weeks off as they're going to be doing a bowel resection and removal of lots of things! I would book at least two to be sure.

Thank u for your replys. I've booked a week out in my diary and pencilled in time off for the two weeks after so I can try and keep it clear just in case. I'll let u know how I get on. At the mo I have a tugging pain in my left side. Scan didn't show anything but he he did an internal he could feels something. He's not sure if it's adhetions from my last operations or more endo sticking stuff together. We are trying for a baby so happy that they are being proactive and doing the dye test too. I'll keep u all updated to how it goes x

Lap and Dye I had a week. This time I've had lots of adhesions and cysts removed and 2 is more likely. Its all job dependent though.
