Hi all... I had a lap on Monday evening... I'm 5 days post op now and although the pain is minimal, everything working well and I'm eating ok... I'm exhausted! Can't remember being this tired last time...

How long does it take to not be so tired and sleepy?

Would love to hear others experiences and tricks lol

I had mine just over a week ago and today is the first day I feel normal! I only had a diagnostic lap, but I can understand you feeling tired! I was so sleepy taking naps in the day for a week after! Also kept crying was ridiculous lol! I found green tea and naps got me through the week. Hope you feel better soon cx

Thank you confused1991, makes me feel so much better knowing it's ok lol

The emotions have started today... was feeling very sorry for myself earlier and the thoughts of all that's going on HR discussions and planning for the empending hysterectomy was so daunting I cried! Had to remind myself I get emotional after anesthetic and it will be ok...

Have to keep myself in check or I'll become an emotional wreck! Lol

Glad I'm not back at work for another week...

xx

I had an extensive Lap three weeks ago. While I have virtually no pain now and feel good. I got exhausted just doing a full grocery shop today, got back to the car and had to recover my breath for a few minutes. So strange, I think my body is just using energy to heal itself. The need for naps has passed though :) Be good to yourself. It often takes longer than we feel should be reasonable.

Thanks Chaosa...

I had minor endo removed from uterosacral ligaments. I have not had a lot of pain at all... However last night while lying in bed I started getting pain where I had it before the op and back ache... This morning I feel tender on all the places I did before...

So scared all the pain I had was due to my adenomyosis and that this op won't make a blind bit of difference to my everyday living now.... I'm really hoping it's just healing pains.... but im not sure what to expect... and if it is healing pains, why have they only started now?

The posy op blues have started too, feeling really emotional about everything now...

Argh...

Glad you are recovering.... and taking it easy x

Hi misteik

5 days after a lap is no time at all really. So don't give yourself a hard time thinking you should be up and about doing housework and shopping!

Just don't over do it if you feel tired still! Some feel better in a week but sometimes it takes up to 4! All depends how long the lap was too and how long you were under. I was out for 5 hours as had Endom removed from bowel and ovaries and it took me at least 3 weeks before I felt normal but still had hot stabs etc for up to 6 weeks.

Drink lots of water and carry on eating healthily and just amble about to keep yr body moving and circulation going. I hardly moved for first week because of the pain, and I had such cold feet by the end of the week! So watch that

Take care and don't over do it as that will only put you back even more!

X

Thank you Hope23,

I am taking things slowly.... did decide to accompany my partner to do a little shop earlier and had to sit half way through because either got all hot and dizzy....

Thankful I'm not back at work tomorrow.

Only thing bugging me now is the pain I had before the op seems to be coming back! :(

Thanks for the advice xxxx

The healing of what they did in there can feel a little like endom pain though. And as the pain killers/morphine they gave you in hospital wears off you will start to get stabbing/hot sharp feelings etc. Just keep up with yr pain killers after food. Sadly it is a slow process after all the digging around in there. Enjoy the next week off and use it to heal and feel rested! Good luck xx
