That is exactly what one of my incision sites look like and i am in week 4 post surgery....no other symptoms and I think the problem is the stitch is too tight and won't dissolve. The other side came away fine and is healing nicely. I made the appointment as my drain incision is still a large hole and just won't seem to heal....I'll let you know how i get on....hope you feel better soon. x

Thank you for taking time to reply to me, yeah sounds just as you saying as this stitch ain't dissolving and the more time going on the tighter it seems to be getting so that could be what's causing it to hurt. Shame poor you week 4 it should've dissolved defo if it was going to and not good about drain incision good luck and will be lookin to see you reply on how you got on, thanks hope you feel better soon too xx

That looks a bit angry Deb. Would probably be best to get it checked.

Good luck x

Hey just to let you know the nurse removed the stitch today. She said she doesn't know why they don't tell you to come and have them removed as without moisture the stitches can't dissolve. It has relieved the pressure and it looks ten times better already. With the drainage incision she said it looked fine, despite me thinking it could be infected and gave me some antibiotic cream to put on the dressings when i am changing them in the morning. So that's a relief.

Deb151 maybe see how you go over the weekend but if it still looks like that by next week and the stitch is still holding on tight then i would go and see about getting it removed.

Wishing you a continued recovery x

Thanks for update weec glad she managed to remove it especially after four weeks thought it may have been a menace to come out glad it's looking better and feeling better already. I called doc about my results for swab and urine urine been lost so have to repeat it receptionist got a doc to call me so he said would need antibiotics phoned prescription through to my local chemist within 10 mins though will call Monday as not expecting it to budge as still very tight, thanks again for taking time to reply and advice xxxx

Glad you got antibiotics for over the weekend...those will hopefully do the trick. My stitches took around 5 weeks to dissolve, they do take time. Hope you feel better soon x

Thanks Sidney I hate to think I would upset you as I'm so weepy and anxious right now I would hate to think I came across rude sorry I have updated a pic on here as my other incision is now oozing gunk after seven antibiotics is that normal xxxx

No need to stress on my behalf, you weren't rude at all. My wounds were a bit gunky as well - I was told to give them a wash with the shower head + pat dry (ensuring they are completely dry). As long as you feel well (ie no temperature, nausea etc) I would suggest you give the antibiotics a chance to do their thing though if you are worried or feel things are worsening get it checked out.

Keep your chin up, better days are just around the corner x

Thanks so much and thanks for taking time to reply and give advice and put my mind at ease that's a good idea the shower head thanks can I ask how long were yours gunky for? I gave it a good wash with saline pods and pat dry. I'm thinking I should leave the inodine off it as she did say a week though it became gunky really quick I have put fresh inodine pad on to stop any more moisture and dry it out. Was feeling sick though think it's antibiotics as really bad indigestion with them too, thanks so much appreciate all your help and time xxxx
