Hi all, well I consider myself a bit of a expert when it comes to bleeding all the time & passing clots, visiting gp in & out of hrs, numerous admissions to control my pain & blood transfusions.....it started after my 1st son 15yrs ago & I was 27yrs old & I battled with the specialist-doctors-consultant until I was 34yrs old!!!!!

7yrs of constant pain, bleeding heavy with clots, numerous hospital admissions for pain relief, scans then they tried medication & injections for the Endometriosis but it always came back after a few wks :( I was given a Laparoscopy to confirm how bad it was then I had a full Hysterectomy with my ovaries at 34yrs old....it put me through the menopause instantly but that was a piece of cake compared to Endometriosis, I am now 42yrs old & never looked backed :) totally pain free,no bleeding & no hospital admissions.

If anyone would like some advice please ask!!!!!!

Hi Metoyou,

I have severe endo so am now being asked to consider a full hysterectomy with ovaries but I keep resisting because I am only 36 and can't really see the benefit of it but then I read stories like yours and it really makes me wonder as I have suspected for a long time I am estrogen dominant as i have real problems with not only endometriosis but also thyroid problems, heavy periods to the point I have chronic anaemia, and weight gain & bloating so some days I wonder if losing my ovaries would be a bad thing. Even if at my age I needed HRT my hormones are so unbalanced that maybe artificial hormone replacement in the right amount could be a blessing.

Thankyou for your post it has really gave me something to think about.

Ps: Forgot to ask, did you opt for HRT after your surgery?

Hello. I feel so much better. Thanks very much for your post. I am scheduled for a hysterectomy including ovaries this September. I have been having cold feet. I have a 9 year old and I'm concerned about being out of commission as well as the horror stories people appear to feel it's ok to tell me about. You have helped settle my nerves. I can now enjoy the summer and look forward to hopefully a pain free life. :-)
