When to star provera? Please help I'm confused!

Hi girls! My doctor told me to stop Norethisterone to take provera 10 mg 3 times a day but wants me to have a period first. So should I stop Norethisterone , have a period and on the last day of my bleeding take provera or have an entire cycle and then take it at the end of my cycle. Please help I don't know what to do !
