My bowel is stuck to my uterus, will this be a possible cause of my chronic constipation? And is this likely to get worse? Do adhesions continue to grow?
I'm eating lots of fruit, Fibre and drinking lots of fluids.... But nothing really works.
Hi Barbara....before i had my hysterectomy my bowel was also stuck 2 my uterus....was in hospital again a couple of weeks ago n dey told me d bowel was stuck 2 d lining of my tummy as well as havin endo on my bladder......unfortunately due 2 d amount of endo n also d amount of meds ur on will most definitely cause chronic constipation..its like a vicious circle u never win....wot works 4 me is if I havent gone d toilet in 3days am left wit no choice bt 2 take d laxative......as 4 d adhesions in my case I found out dat dey can join up n actually cause blockages of d bowel n intestine(which I have)so dey hav given me laxatives as well as a sachet of picolax 2 take once a month 2 make sure d bowel gets a gud flush out....d main ting my specialist told me is not 2 let d bowel get bunged up n its most important 2 keep d bowel moving 2 prevent d symptoms gettin worse.....der was talk bout me having 2 get a colostomy bag bt dey decided 2 giv d laxatives n sachet a go while i was in hospital n it worked....again each one of us are different as 2 how we react wit endo bt if ur worried either ask ur doctor and ur specialist 2 explain wots happening n wot dey recommend for u.
I also have endo on my bowels, had some of it removed 3 weeks ago but there were not able to remove it all, so still partially "stuck"
The nurse at the hospital recommended I try golden linseed, 2 teaspoons a day in a yogurt or added to cereal, you can also coat fish or chicken for a yummy crust.
I must admit I was highly sceptical about it as I have been on strong laxatives for a long time and could only go once or twice a week at the most, well since I started taking it iv been going every day with NO pain!!!
Please please try it, you can get it from any supermarket and it's only 90p per small bag.
Nothing would work for me until I was told about the flax seed/linseed trick by a gastrenerologist (spelling?). It's good to hear someone else has had success with this. I was quite amazed that it worked.
Just warning though...take with a large drink of water. Sometimes I have forgotten and end up in a worse state!
Barbara,
I hope you try this and also the Aloe Vera juice suggested by Sheri. Like you I don't like the idea of laxatives. It might take a few days to work. You can also make flax 'tea' if that's easier. I'm going to try this and see if it works....don't like seeds getting stuck in my teeth!!! yogahound.co.uk/2011/09/mak...
Just to clarify, whilst I know flaxseed and golden linseed are the same thing, the nurse said the golden linseed is a slightly different form of it and much much better, she also said that obviously drinking water is important but with the golden linseed there are no issues re having to drink with it.
Flaxseed in supermarkets is about £5/£6 a pack, golden linseed is only 90p.
