How do you get rid of rib pain?

I have a lot of pain in my lower left ribs that is spreading up. My doctor believes its an adhesion. I wake up with it and go to bed with it. I'm a hairdresser and it disturbs my work. Does anyone else have this problem? If so, how do you fix it?

Yes, I do/have had rib pain on my left side, it was a suspected stomach ulcer from taking NSAIDs (anti inflam's ). Went on/off for a year and only recently it's been okay, very painful as well as endo pain. My gp put my on omprezole. I had an endoscopy but pulled camera out, so never had results from that. My consultant said it could be refered pain!!! Oh and I find bras really uncomfortable . Xx

There are some homeopaths who recommend stretching exercises to stretch specific adhesions gently. doesn't solve the issue that they are there in the 1st place.

Surgery can cut through adhesions freeing up organs that are stuck together and brriers or buffers can be placed to delay them getting stuck again too soon fter surgery.

But there is never anything that can be done to stop the wretched things growing again - they always do to some extent.

If the pain is always troubling you then certainly adhesions have to be highly likely suspects.

Have you been checked for a hiatius hernia - that too can cause nuisance constant pain.

and seeing as your pain is on the left side - and your stomach is on the left side and hiatius hernias are on the left side too, it has to be a contender unless it has been ruled out already.

Thanks so much! I've really been feeling hopeless over this sincey doc doesn't want to do anymore surgeries and any pain meds make me sick. Please let me know if you learn anything else.

Montana I have been suffering with this and after my recent lap the consultant has told me its from where the intestine is distended and swollen from the endo on my bowels. SO this could be a possibility xxx

I've had severe nausea, vomiting, rt upper quadrant pain just under the ribs & sometimes wraps around to back 5 months post opt. Doc says All from endo stage 4,had infected mass & adhesions. Suggested I go to pelvic pain clinic for pt--- they do a lot stretching, exercises, cupping,& internal/vagina pressure points to help with the tightness and pain. It doesn't sound pretty but it has helped & I would gladly have the pain instead of the nausea/vomiting.

Thanks ladies! I actually ended up in the emergency room the other night with this awful rib pain. They told me I have gastritis which is the swelling of my stomach lining. They think its from all the antiinflammatories. That makes sense but I've maybe taken one of those in the last month because they make me sick. I just know its endo related. I'm having the exact pain that MMSHADOWK has described.

I do and I'm a hairdresser too. I always seem to get it worse when I'm busy. I'm wondering if it could be muscular.
