Hi all i haven't been on here in a while i saw my specialist in December and i signed the constent form for part hysterectomy (ovaries and fallopian tubes removed) he said there is a 2 year waiting list so till then i have to keep on the morphine. The pain that travels down into the legs morphine doesn't get rid of that i was just wondering if any off you lovely women have any remedies for me to try.

Big hugs to you all. Xx

Hey. I get bad leg pains as well which don’t seem to be helped by painkillers. I’m on co-codamol and still get the pain. I was on amitriptyline last year for leg pain which really helped as it’s for nerve pain. I’m thinking of asking my GP at next appointment if I can go back on it as my leg pain is so uncomfortable especially when driving/lying in bed.

Hope you find a solution! X

Hi hunny I'm so sorry your suffering from this w. I suffered from this from tops of thighs into groin ,like a hot nerve/cramp that goes down each leg - I actually had a full Hysterectomy nearly 8yrs this June and I still suffer from this ,I actually attend a pain clinic (ask for referal) now for chronic pain ,nothing I find helps ,I wear fentynal patches topped up with tramadol ,I have tried lots of medication gabapentine ,pregabalin over the years ,acupuncture ,physio even had injections into my sacroiliac joints and still demented with this pain ,please read up about it more don't rush your op ,ive regretted mine from day 1 ,sorry I've not been much help ♥️

Hi thank-you for your reply to be truthful im been asking for hysterectomy for about 5 years now and have been really adamant that its what i want but when it came to me signing the constent form even though he said its a 2 year waiting list all ive done since then is panic about everything and all stupid little thoughts going through my head . is it the hysterectomy you are on about not to rush in to it? I suffer with this and have found a tens machine takes the pain away better than pain killers. I have often fell a sleep with the tens machine working. Good job they have a timer on 😂😂

Thank-you all for your kind words and replys ive mentioned to my doctor numerous times about the pain in my legs and he just said that rhe morphine should take that pain away but it doesn't and he just don't like listening. I will give the different thinhs a try.Xx

My hysterectomy was the best decision I ever made. I’m now 3 years post and have an active life again. I still get some pain like you describe but it’s no longer debilitating. Before op I found that the more exercise I did the lesser the pain. Everyone is different and I pray you find something that works for you. X

Hi Thank-you for your reply i do try and do light exercises at home which i find im ok whiles doing them its when i stop my pain seems to come on pretty bad i cant walk far at all ive got a 3 wheel push along walking frame thing which i find quite embarrassing as im 27 but it does help me to walk more than i could without it and straight as without that im constantly leaning to my left and that is causing horrendous back pain. Ive read loads of different womens experiences on here after hysterectomy which some say it was the best thing they done and others say it didnt work at all so it has messed with my mind abit but i keep saying to myself i dont want children and never have done so i dont need my insides so if it works its a bonus if it doesn't then nothing lost. I pray you can find the right path for you. I have two miracle girls after 13 years of trying so I was happy to see my mess inside ripped out!! I was also 47 so not needing it any more. The pain is not fun. I’ve just come back from an hours walk through the hills and aching now but it’s worth it to feel alive again!
