Does anyone else get pain in the hips and thighs? Its so uncomfortable
Hip pain: Does anyone else get pain in the... - Endometriosis UK
Hip pain
That is what is bugging me right this minute.
My suspected ovarian cyst alien thing seems to tug right over the right pelvic bone somehow. Not inside it but outside it.
It isn't coming from the hip socket but over the top if the jutting out bit of bone.
Some days are okay some days like today are really rather uncomfy.
It is only a new pain and since this cyst burst and refilled up.
I duno what it is but my hips kill and both thighs kill I must just be having a bad flare up of endometriosis then its like ive got the flu but I haven't :/
Hi, I have constant thigh pain and hip pain which varies from a dull ache to agony. Sometimes I say it's like I've run a marathon as they just ache so much. Other times I get sharp pains on the outer side and when my hips are bad it can feel like someone has a screwdriver twisting it into my hip bone. As I said it's mainly on outer side where your outside trouser seam would fall. I have been told this line is the sciatic nerve and with so many nerves that run through your abdomen it is likely that any inflammation which is caused by endo will make it worse. I began with being sobad the week before period that id be limping and my doctor prescribed anti depressants to numb the feelings from the nerves. This has helped a little as not limping as much but as I now have it constantly if I wasn't on these it maybe much worse.
Anyway the only thing that takes the edge off is codeine it doesn't completely go but makes it easier to cope with. Hot baths is only time it really feels better and heat on my thigh sometimes helps but as it's gone from just one leg to both it's hard to know where to put the heat first!! The only other thing which I was advised by acupunctureist was to use your knuckles to massage quite heavily from hip to knee along the sciatic nerve. As you do it , it will hurt more as you rub up and down pushing into your thigh, but it is supposed to help with blood circulation and I do seem to find after doing it for a few minutes, a while later it does seem alittle better. IM afraid I cant help with an answer to solve it but can only share what I do to get some relief. And I know there's many of us on here that suffer with this alongside endo. I'm currently waiting for op to remove tubes as they're blocked and very swollen. The doctor believes this could be making a lot of my pain worse so just hoping this solves it.
If I've been standing all day they also get worse and it's agony driving home, but I do take ibuprofen while I'm at work and codeine as soon as I get home.
I hope you get some relief soon as I'm finding this worse than the stomach pains at the moment!
It felt like I had the flu but it keeps happening when I have really bad stomach pains
Yep that's how mine started, the funny thing is I've now got the dreaded cold but been aching so much it wasn't till my arms started aching and then started sneezing that I realized as I'm so used to the achey feeling. It definitely gets worse when the stomach pains get worse and Iget very bloated too, can look 3 months pregnant! So being told that it's inflammation makes sense to me.
Yeah I swell to look about 6 months pregnant so uncomfortable
Yes ! I wondered if it was linked to the endo ! My thighs feel. Bruised and like I've hot the gym too hard, and my hips hard really uncomfortable to move and twist like the joint is dry? Really unbearable at times
Me too. I have exactly the same pain & sometimes it feels as though my muscles are being ripped from my hip bone downwards if that makes sense to anyone. Also get a weird shivering electric shock down my legs too. Dreading going back to work as standing or sitting doesn't help. Hope you have a good day
when I started with the pain around 5 months ago, one of the first simpthoms it was hip pain, terrible hip pain , normally when i was a teen every period bring some hip pain but this new one whas different it was like the same pain but until its maximun high, then I start to use a woodstick to walk becasue of it. Diclofenac was the antiinflamatory who helps me with it, what it happends is the same endo irritates the Sacro bone then comes the pain. Xx
I suffered with these pains for months and also felt as though my hip didn't move like it was supposed to. After surgery to remove 2 cysts and my right ovary it seems to have disappeared so in my personal experience I don't think mine was related to my endo x
My stomachs really bad today and so are my legs its like I've done to much walking ive had enough am going the hospital
I was told that my sciatica was aggravated by my endometriosis as it can press on the sciatic nerve caused ng pain through my lower back, hips, thighs and down to my knees x
My pain is exactly like lillyflower's and I've tried using a sports roller to release muscles around the nerve. I actually find that if you can bear it, exercise helps. Usually ill go to the gym or something saying there is hardly a way I can walk there but by the time I've done a little bit of exercise its loosened enough to help a little bit.
Drugs wise, diazepam helps as it relaxes your muscles and releases the nerve but its very addictive and not a long term solution.
I'm sat with my heat pad wrapped round my hip and thigh hoping the painkillers kick in soon! Been a busy day at work on my feet all day, it's actually better when I'm walking about and I try to go for a ten min walk at lunch time and although it hurts I have to agree it does seem to help me keep moving, but as soon as im sat down, ouch! Driving home can be agony and now on sofa suffering again. It's really horrid so know how your all feeling. It's strange how I'm now so used to it I'm more surprised when they don't hurt but am hopeful I'll remember what that's like again after my next op. Fingers crossed x
I have to have an other ultrasound thinking I have a cyst on my ovary pains still bad but am at home in bed waiting for scan date x
I have this exact same pain and quite a few endo symptoms. Had internal scan and examination .. And they say they can't see anything
I have these hip pains you all describe I told my doc this is part of my symptoms but he is now sending me for a hip xray because since my op top of my leg and around my hip is numb has anyone else had numbness?
I am having the hip pain as we speak, and lower back pain, and sharp pains down my bum, leg, knee, groin, pressure on my bladder - it's been non stop for the last couple of weeks - it's been driving me mad! I haven't been too bad since having the coil in May and since my op in November, but worried it's all kicking off again!
Hi I have recently been diagnosed with adenomyosis and since September I have had pain in lumbar region, buttocks, coccyx, hips, thighs and leg pain. Left side mainly. Also pain in left ovary area, pelvic area and headaches. Trying to walk sometimes was a real struggle, I thought I had arthritis or a spinal cyst. Pain is worse around period and ovulation, but I can get pain at any time. Hot water bottle helps and camomile tea too. I cannot take NSAIDS as I have acid reflux. My concentration and stamina is affected too.
yes I do its so hard to walk about so saw it makes work hard
my hip pain was the reson i went in 4 my first lap. they hurt so much all the time my right one is the worst.
I have the exact same pain, hips and thighs. Feels like I've got flu from my waist down or run a marathon! Codiene helps but makes me like a zombie so I can't work when I take them. Heat helps a bit but I'm just so uncomfortable and restless it's horrid. I have a cyst on my left ovary, waiting for my 3 month check up at the end of April. Im a dog trainer so need to be on my feet!

hi, I realise these posts are up to 3 years old, but they describe my hip pain exactly. I have an endo cyst on left ovary and my surgeon can't promise that removing it would help the pain, so I have held off surgery for years. I have a physio pal who thinks the pain might be referred pain (ie travelling up to above the hip).
Has anyone had cysts (or ovaries) removed and seen their pain ease or disappear?
I have had 2 kids and am now 48 (heading to menopause) so not sure if I should have surgery or not.
Thanks,
Kira
