I’ve been having longer pain flares lately and it’s causing a lot of hip pain and numbness particularly on my right side. It makes it very hard to walk and I feel unstable, as though my right leg might buckle under me at any moment as I can not really feel what I am doing with it or standing on. Anyone experience this?
Thanks,
Lu

I get something kind of like this. My wife is a US osteopathic physician/GP and she does a couple osteopathic techniques that seem to help align the hip and calm the nerves. In my case one treatment tends to last about a week. I also have pudendal neuralgia- pain in my vulva that actually comes from a restriction near my SI joint, so sometimes doing light stretching or a little walking around can help when I can tolerate it. Good luck, it’s a tough situation.
I had bad neuropathy in my feet and legs until my lap. All of a sudden after the op I had all this feeling in my legs and feet. I find trigger point injections in my low back/ sciatica really help with my fibro pain. Because I have 15 chronic conditions and there’s a lot of overlap it’s sometimes hard to distinguish between what is causing it. Try a heating pad on your low back and look into finding someone who can do trigger point injections. The specialized clinic I went to last year for my Endo, they discussed trigger point injections as a tool. Another great thing is to sit with your hips open in the butterfly position. When you cross your legs a lot you pull all those muscles and it can cause the pain in the legs and low back as well.
Must be hugely challenging to live with so many conditions. Thank you for your kind reply. You’ve reminded me that I used to get trigger point acupuncture when I was younger and didn’t know my hip pain was endo related. I must try it again as, as far as I can remember it did help a bit. Yes, live on my heating pad! Thanks for the butterfly tip. Will definitely try that.
It might be worth finding a physiotherapist who specializes in Endo or at least pelvic disorders. I feel so lucky to have an Endo specialist clinic where I live. It’s like a center of excellence. I live in Canada. They focus on all aspects of Endo, the mental, the physical and surgical. They have you see their pelvic physiotherapist. She taught me a ton of useful exercises. There is no easy fix but with work it will get easier. Don’t give up!
Yep, my hip bone and my pelvic bone constantly feel bruised like I have bumped into something. I have pain shoots through my right leg, this is caused by endo pressing down on the nerve. After lap this disappears, but gradually comes back with time.
That’s really helpful to hear, thank you. I had a lap in February but it didn’t seem to improve the leg pain at all, but maybe because the endo on the nerves was missed. Will raise it with my new consultant.
