Hi all, had lap and dye plus hysteroscopy and adhesioloysis operation a week ago.

This was operation number 4 to try separate, bowel from ovary and mobilise my left tube. Told no fill and spill in tube so would need ivf as no right tube due to ectopic. So confused and upset as in new relationship and would like another child but also can't see how they are ever going to cure the bowel issue which causes so much pain. Anyone experience the same, doctors are vague :-(

Hi, sorry to hear that, I just wanted to say I know how devastating being told ivf is only option and worried about constant pain. I can't help with the bowel issue, but was told both tubes booked and ovary stuck to them so now waiting for op to hopefully seperate ovary and remove tube, I'm hoping this eases pain so I can think about ivf. Did they manage to seperate it all? After a week I'm guessing your still recovering from op so hope your pains improve. I'm sorry I can't help but just wanted to say I know how upsetting hearing this news and ivf is still an option so what gets me through each day is knowing there's still hope x

Hi,

Thanks for your kind words. They did say they separated the vowel etc but this is the 3rd op I've had and has all stuck back together :-( . Really hope all goes well for you as you said ivf is still an option for both of us. Good luck xx

Hi, thanks, I hope this time it helps, I'm a bit worried about it coming back too as adhessions seem to be main issue too. I'm having laparotomy so know that can cause more scaring too but trying to stay hopeful. Well I'm glad the op went well and have they suggested any hormone treatment to try and stop it? I hope once recovered you get some relief and it lasts longer this time. I know I'll have at least 6 months before we can think about ivf as will need to recover from op first but if ivf is successful, pregnancy is supposed to help too so just hoping I feel well enough to try so if you decide ivf is right for you then it might help you too! I know how alone I felt with my thoughts and worries about it all so just knowing someone understands I found comforting. Rest lots and try and think positive. Maybe they did a better job this time and you'll be feeling better for longer, fingers crossed for you x
