Hello, I'm 27 I was diagnosed with poi at age 25. Three failed ivfs. Yesterday I had a laparoscopy and dye test, they removed a 3cm cyst right ovary, the left tube is permanently blocked, they said I had moderate endometriosis and treated it, was in pelvic area, they took biopsy from womb. I'm to attend the endometriosis clinic asap. I duno what's gonna happen now. Any ideas? Do you think I'll ever get pregnant or should we just return to adoption process? Hx
Just had lap and dye test. : Hello, I'm 2... - Endometriosis UK
Just had lap and dye test.
So sorry youre having a tough time. I'd imagine they will look at excision surgery and let you know if the biopsy indicates adenomyosis. It is possible to conceive with a single ovary so hopefully their treatment will work.
There are some endo and fertility figures and info here.
Hey Hun they may offer you ivf, I had a lap and dye back in 2015 and I was offered IUI first and then Ivf. Good luck xx also having the lap and dye apparently increases your chance to concieve naturally. It never worked for me! X
I've already had my one free attempt on NHS. What was your background? Do you mean trying naturally never worked for you?
Hey Hun, I have endometriosis and I had an operation back in 2013 and was told the my fetility would not be affected. I got married in 2014 and we started to try for a baby as soon as. Nothing happened so I went to the doctor's and was referred to my local hospital. I had a lap and dye test done in 2015 and then was told to try naturally for 3 months before we moved on to IUI and that didn't work so I had ivf. Ivf failed in December. So now I'm back go sqaure one. I don't have any ivf goes on the NHS so my husband and I have to self fund. X
So sorry to hear that. Thanks for sharing. We don't know what to do going forward for children. It's so hard
Hi there
Your story sounds quite similar to mine.
I was referred for a fertility work up (33 years old) and had a laparoscopic op which dianosised blocked left tube, cyst on right ovary, endometriosis, left ovary tucked behind and stuck to bowel. Had the dye test and they got the tube flushing in the end but it was very difficult. They surgically removed the endo then I went on to and injection called prostap which it a chemical menopause for 3 months to reduce the endo further (bits they couldn't remove due to location). They said the best chance for me to conceive was to go straight into an ivf round. Which I have done and I'm waiting to find out if it has been successful
I suppose u could be offered prostap or tube removal. I understand that blocked tubes /fluid in tubes and reduce the success rate of the ivf working
It sounds as though you have been through so much, good luck with everything xx
Oh please let me know if you have any success. Thanks so much for sharing. I feel like my body can't cope with anymore ivf. I always end up in hospital afterwards. I'm off to meet another couple who have adopted at Christmas as we started the process last year but changed our minds twice and went back to self funding ivf. It's so hard to make a decision.
I will certainly let you know the outcome.
I had 5 eggs, all fertilised, 1 ET (3day embryo) 4 days ago so in the 2 ww now. I have found out today that the other 4 embryos didn't make it (don't know why). I have had my 1 round free on the NHS so next round will need to be self funded. I understand how difficult a decision it will be for you. Good luck whichever way you decide to go xx
