Result! Hysterectomy is a go!!

I would just like to update all the lovely ladies who have been helping me with my recent diagnosis of Adeno along with endo and pcos! I saw the consultant today and finally after 15 years of pleading he agreed I needed the hysterectomy. I honestly can not tell you how happy I am that I will soon be able to reclaim my life. I know it will be a long slog but it will be worth it in the end! The thought of no periods, no endo, no more cysts just makes me have a whole new look on life. I just thought I would share what I think is awesome news......for me anyway :-) And to say to those ladies pushing for it DON'T GIVE UP!! X

Good luck Shali. Having a hysterectomy was the best thing for me, as you say, you can reclaim your life. Just be really careful about not over doing things after the op!

Aw I will. I have the most amazing partner. Plus my mother won't leave so not concerned about my daughter being looked after. I feel like a weight has been lifted. Do you mind if I ask you a question?

I had my hysterectomy a long time ago, but go ahead and ask! I'll tell you if I don't know.

I had enough of my ovaries left to mean that

I did not have a premature menopause. It worked well for me.

Good luck Shali. I think that's the path I want to go down, I'm 37 and have 2 grown up sons and just want to be rid of everything now! I worry about early menopause too. Hope it all goes well and keep us posted. Take care X

Thank you! It's the only route for me now. Fifteen years of fighting. I have a 22 month old daughter and I worry about menopause xx

I can understand why ovaries may need to be removed. I think I was very lucky that I didn't have any problems with my ovaries left in. Hopefully you can find some one who has experienced an early menopause to talk to. I found this short article on line.
