Hysterectomy but no Lap ? Is this strange ?

I have to have a hysterectomy even though I am not sure what gynae problem I have. Although my pain was relieved significantly although not completely on Zoladex. Just suprized I wasn't offered a lap first. Any ideas

hi , im in same position as u.. im on 3 month of decapeptyl then told i can have hystrectomy? iv just got bk from a'n'e (horrendous bleeding) -the doctor told me its stress not pain!? eh excuse me i know my body. it horrible that women get put threw this.. iv fought for past few yrs to get to bottom of my pain,heavy beeding etc..iv tried everything theyve asked me to and i personally am at my wits end.. which im sure u are too. i hope get the treatment u deserve hun.. keep us posted .claire xx

Oh my goodness. You don't know what you have??? Please don't get a hysterectomy! No, that's not right. Find another doctor. Are you in the UK? We're not supposed to promote doctors in this forum but if you message me, someone in the UK told me about a great one. I'll pass over his name. I can't vouch for him myself, but he sounds fantastic.

you should defo have a lap first, thats wrong that having a hysterectomy before a lap is even considered yet by a gynaecologist

OMG dont do it x you should always have a lap first.

i cant belive they have said that , i had to beg for mine and it was a waste of time. such a big step and you dont evan know whats wrong. how do these people become doctors?. please please dont have it done unless there is no other option which im guessing there is x
