It's been two weeks since my first laparoscopy and it's not been easy.....having a lot of different pains and one of the wounds has become infected. Now, just to make things that little bit more interesting, I have the period from hell. I feel like I'm living on painkillers which I hate, and I'm having the worst period cramps in years. I have no idea what's going on with my body....it feels like it's at war with me!!! I thought the prostap was supposed to stop my periods but it seems my body has other ideas....has anyone else experienced this? I've spoken to a nurse at the gynae ward and she said it could be a 'little breakthrough period' and to go see my gp. I'm going to see my gp on Thursday but I'm worried there's something wrong
Having a period two weeks after my first ... - Endometriosis UK
Having a period two weeks after my first prostap injection....I'm in agony!!
That's really normal and common - I have seen loads of people (myself included) report a really horrific period a few weeks after the first injection, but it does get better. I think my prostap period was probably the worst I had ever had, but after that I didn't bleed again for about 6 months (from a 3 month injection).
It will get better honey, but honestly don't worry, it's normal x
I had Prostap the day after my first lap and I got my first period after it then it stopped, I think it's to do with which cycle day you have the injection on

Thanks girls, I appreciate you taking the time to get in touch.
Thankfully it seems to be finished, but I'm still in a lot of pain. The period pains seem to have passed, but the sharp pain in my right hand side is still there....this is the same pain I had before I went into hospital and prompted me to visit a+e in the first place. I know it's only a couple of weeks since my op but should I be in the same amount of pain I was in before? ? The pain is just beneath my ribcage on the right side....this is the side the cyst was on.
I went to see my gp today, but she couldn't really help as she doesn't know too much about endo and says it's a very specialist subject. I'm feeling really lost and worried....don't know what to do, it's really getting me down
