Hi, I'm a 39 year old type 1 diabetic (for almost 20 years). My blood glucose control has never really been especially good and I'm afraid I'm starting to see the impact of this. I have been having terrible night sweats now for 3-4 years on and off. GP suspects it is related to diabetic neuropathy & has carried out blood tests which is also flagging up early stages of kidney problems. I have another blood test next week, which she suspects will confirm CKD. It's the wake up call I've needed to get my blood sugars in order to prevent further damage, so aside from keeping blood glucose levels lower, what else can I do to limit any further damage? I'm a busy mum of two and I work out 5-6 times a week, so like to think of myself as exceptionally fit and healthy in all other ways. I drink more alcohol than is recommended. (Bottle of wine with husband most nights) I feel this should be something of a priority to address? Many Thanks x
