Is it that if creatinine in urine goes up than that in serum blood goes down?
creatinine in spot urine: Is it that if... - Early CKD Support
creatinine in spot urine
Not really! If you have protein in your urine shows you may have CKD. We all have creatinine in our urine. It's another way to measure how well your kidneys are doing. High creatinine in your urine is a sign of kidney damage and inflammation. If high urine creatinine then your blood creatinine is high also.
does this mean that if creatinine in spot urine is going down then it means kidneys are improving
Not quite sure how that all works. I know as a transplant recipient I have protein and creatinine in my urine. Doctor's do look at the protein in urine and normalize to your creatinine = come up with some ratio. It should be lower than 220, according to my lab. Mine was 157 in July. Normal creatinine levels for men is 20 - 275. So, if you are in that range it is all normal
I think everyone spills more and less creatinine in their urine depending what you eat and how hydrated you are. Afterall our kidneys are a filter. Creatine is a waste product. Last December my urine creatinine was 139.2 and this March it was 44.7. so mine jumps around depending on my diet and hydration. My blood creatinine remained the same at 0.8.
So I don't really know about your question? I think there are so many variables... Best thing is to ask your doctor or his nurse. But having high urine creatinine and then a lower number, as long as it is in range it's OK, as I understand.
What have your urine creatinine numbers been?
