poor kidney function

hi my daughter has 19 percent kidney function and her spesilist has said she not suitable for dialasies or transplant has very poor diet as wont eat anything but chips how long do people think she can expect to live

She must change diet. Eating just chips is not good, especially if they a fried aswel. Why does she do this?

she has special needs and is very complex tried a variety of different foods and so has dieation with no luck

Keep trying and hopefully your daughter will improve on her diet. I bought a low fat frier that uses only 1/2 tablespoon of sunflower oil to provide a large portion of brilliant chips - much healthier until your daughter hopefully changes her habits. all the best to you.

Hi, I find it very hard that you have been told that she is not suitable for dialysis, personally I would be asking to see someone else as that is ridicules. I started dialysis 19 months ago and I wasn't eating anything. Dialysis normally starts when you are below 10% but she should be having the fistula put in place now, if she hasn't already.

thanks for your feedback but sharon would be unable to sit for dialises as she is very complex and she would not tolerate been hooked up to machine as she gets very distressed even having to get bloods checked at renial unit
