Update: DEXCOM

Sorry it's been a while since I had done a posting, but things had been a little busy for me.

The last few sensors (including the one from last Friday) hadn't been that great and they all had the same issues on and off. Last Friday's sensor that was put in was really horrible during the day yesterday and I finally had to change it for the new sensor I'm using since last night.

Before inserting the sensor I have on now last night, I called to talk with Tech. Support and ask for another replacement sensor to be sent out. After talking to the Rep., I was told that the next replacement sensor will be here between 3-5 days from yesterday night. They understood that having a sensor go off with alarms even when not accurate was not good for anyone. We'll see what happens with the next new sensor soon.

Hi Leah,

Thanks for posting your Dexcom woes. It's been a while and I was hoping that the Dexcom would be working better. I'm glad I haven't bought one now, I was tempted by the TV ads over here in the UK, it has saved me a lot of money.

TT x.

You're welcome and glad the information is helpful. The new sensor that I had requested will be delivered tomorrow sometime 'before end of day'. I'm so far okay with the newest sensor that I have been using recently, so we'll see if it can last for the full 10-days.

Hello A-2004: Sorry to hear your experience with Dexcom. I got mine last November 2021 and I'm overly impressed with it. I've lost a transmitter because it fell off. I also flubbed installing the code number on the "gun". They replaced it free, but the inevitable delay in readings is annoying. I like the graph, however, which is its best feature, but the Abbot Free is much easier to use.

Thank you for the reply, apenson . It’s a toss up sometimes when it comes to the sensors/supplies for the system. I have used the CGM since 2015( May). I was using the G4 before it was no longer useable/no longer had sensors for it. I started with the G6 in 2019.

I was woken up by the alarm on the receiver early this morning since I woke up with a blood sugar of 67mg/dl. I had two cups of pineapple juice and one cup of a protein shake before breakfast since it was 5:30 am; USA time.
