Hello Ayjaz
Please have a read through the DRWF leaflets here as a first port of call - the diet and exercise one should be useful. drwf.org.uk/diabetes-leaflets you can download and read or listen to the audio versions. This article might be useful too bit.ly/2bijHPu As far as medications go you will need to discuss this with your healthcare professional in the first instance.
Diet and medication depend first on whether you're type 1 or type 2 and of course you do need the advice of your doctor. But as a type 1 I follow a 'sensible' diet - moderation in all things - but the best thing I ever did was go on a course which exists in the UK (where the local health group is prepared to fund it - it isn't available privately) called DAFNE - Dose Adjustment For Normal Eating - which according to their website is "a way of managing Type 1 diabetes and provides people with the skills necessary to estimate the carbohydrate in each meal and to inject the right dose of insulin". But is actually a lot more than that and, even after nearly 30 years of managing my condition, opened my eyes to a lot which has helped me enormously. It's delivered by specially trained nurses and dietitians and takes a few days to go through the whole course. I've no idea whether DAFNE or anything similar is available outside the UK, but I'd recommend any Type 1 to take advantage if they can.
