I use the Breeze2 for testing and the DEXCOM system for the 24/7 monitoring.
None of machine is perfect. So choose any good brand like dr. Morepan, accusure, glucoone. Accusure is cheap and good and do monthly checkup by pathology.
There are a range of meters available, which will suit different people depending on their diabetes type and medication.
I am Type 1 on a basal bolus regimen, so currently use the Accu-Chek Aviva Expert, which helps me calculate my insulin doses based on carb intake and other factors like stress, illness and exercise.
My mum is Type 2 and diet controlled. She doesn't use a meter at all because there is nothing she can do with the results or to affect them. She has the odd check at GP check up and her twice a year HbA1c.
My brother is Type 2 on Metformin. He has a basic meter that just does simple blood-glucose with no other functions. He uses the Accu Chek Nano.
It may be worth speaking with your GP or pharmacist to see what meter is best for your needs and whether you qualify for test strips on prescription.
If you want to research meters yourself, you can find most online. Here are a few links to different companies

I use the Accu Chek Mobile and really like it, I had to buy my own and a.though the meter is not too expensive I think the cartridges are expensive, it is very easy to use though.
This is so you know if a person is dropping OR going higher than they should in blood sugars. It's good for overnight while a person is sleeping. It alarms and wakes a person if they are low at night.
You're welcome! Any time.
