Week 42: DEXCOM Update (Semana 42: actualización de DEXCOM)

This is week 42 of the DEXCOM.  So far, the week has been going quite well except for one hiccup two days ago.  Before getting ready for the busy work day, I checked my DEXCOM to see what the number was supposed to be on the receiver.  Unfortunately, the symbol for the antenna wasn't there for a few minutes.  This got me really not happy because I didn't want to stop everything and get a new sensor put in before leaving the house.  Lucky me, the antenna did come back and things have been going okay.  There was no need to replace the sensor, yet after all.  We'll see how much longer it can last before Tuesday afternoon next week.

I've noticed lately that sometimes, the DEXCOM has the arrows going angling up or down, but the end numbers don't reflect that!  Not sure what's going on with that, but the numbers aren't too low or high afterwards.  I'm thinking the DEXCOM is sometimes confused about where my numbers are supposed to be.

More later!  Keep on reading!  I'm going to go and check back in later today if there's any time or if the weather isn't that bad (no thunder and/or lightning).

¡Más más tarde! ¡Siga leyendo!

Day Leah.

I find that my Dexcom sensor will drop off after a shower or wearing high wasted clothes that rub the senor. I try and protect the senor during showers by taping plastic over like a rain coat. Seems to help especially when it's neat the end of the week of the change. I often try to get a few extra days from my senor-I'm so thin difficult to find implant sites.

Thanks for the information.  I'm sorry for taking a little longer to get back to you, but I was having lunch.

Taping plastic around the transmitter seems a little hard .  How does the plastic with tape stay in place?

There are some tapes on the market which I think you would like the tape feels like what surrounds the DEXCOM senor. Very thin and easy to remove but will provide coverage. I'm sure many of the sport individuals use this for racing or swimming. I hope to put enough weight on to swim with my grand kids this summer and will use this.  The product I've used in the past to prolong changing my senor and keeping it place is Nexcare Flexible clear tape, the tape. It's also hypoallergenic. Can be found at any of your drug stores. This is surgical tape so it is designed for longer use.
