Daylight Savings Time

Has anyone had any issues with the Daylight Savings Time that we've had recently? Ever since we've started it over the weekend recently, I've noticed that I've been much more tired than usual. Does anyone else feel this way? Has it effected your blood sugars?

Hi Activity2004

Not being medically qualified I can only assume that if you have your levels delicately balanced day by day the "loss" of an hour might well upset your rhythms.

We in the UK don't change our clocks for another 11 days or so.

Thank you for the information. I didn't know the time change is a different day than here in the USA. 11days, why?

Daylight Savings Time is changing the clocks either an hour forward (Spring), or fan hour back (Fall).

We in the UK change our clocks at 1.00 am on the last Sunday in March and back again on the last Sunday in October.

I guess it all depends on the length of available daylight according to our latitude compared to yours as we are probably further north than you are in the USA.

I hope you have an enjoyable spring and summer.

Hi Activity,

i sure have noticed the effects of the the spring forward. Certainly more tired can nap for hours and sleep at night with out any problems. My blood sugars have been very wacky difficult to control. Many highs and lows, my highs drop like cannon I need to be so careful and prepared with glucose tabs and OJ, for crashes. I can always shot a few extra units if I go to high, that is not to often normally. With the time change my body has been totally effected. My Dexcom really helps I'm so glad you got one as I suggested. My last A1C 6.1 I was really happy that was taken when I went in the hospital. I eat a very high carb diet to keep my weight up, battle to get it to 95 lbs, lost 10 in the hospital that was the first of Jan., up to regular weight and hoping for more.

Nice visiting with you Activity have a great day,

Wow! 6.1 for the A1c is great. How long did it take to get it down that far?

I was up at 5 am because I got notified I was 80 today. DEXCOM woke me. But, for Daylight Savings Time, I would have been probably still sleeping. I'm still tired, but hope to catch up on my sleep later.

I have been around 8 to 8.5 but my doctor did not mind he wanted me to add pounds which means carb's. We decided to follow a Keto diet more closely, which removes a lot off carb's. I adjusted by very whole wheat sandwiches lot's of meat and veggies for lunch. Dinner is top end grass fed meats with a small pasta(Dreamflied pasta).

Really did not take long was dropping in the fall and continued before I got sick. All numbers were pulled when I went in the hospital so the 7.1 is right on, do not think it will be there this time had to gain 10lbs from my hospital stay. Have my weight back up!

Have a great St. Patricks Day we are making corn beef Sat. when he gets home from business.

I think maybe it's because there is a wide disparity of available daylight hours between south of England and Scotland - what would work for us down south would not for those in the North and there is no way that we could have changes in different months from each other as that would be like having different time zones - the UK is not large enough to need that
