How to Strengthen the mussels controlling the excretions ?

I am 71 Type 2 since 2000 kept under control and strictly following LCHF since 2014.

It is felt, since of late, the mussels controlling the excretions are not functioning well as they used to. While lying down in bed when you feel the need to go to the toilet, it leaves hardly any time when you stand up vertical. You have to rush.

Is there any way we can improve the mussels by adding or deducting any food/ medicine/ exercises to bring back normalcy.

The medications used to control Type 2 diabetes may cause loose bowel actions (diarrhoea). The combination of weak pelvic floor muscles and loose bowel actions may cause faecal incontinence. If these problems are experienced, talk to your family Doctor, Diabetes Nurse or Dietician.

Some diseases, such as diabetes and multiple sclerosis, also can affect these nerves and cause damage that leads to fecal incontinence.

The exact mechanism by which diabetes causes incontinence is not yet known. However, it is known that high blood sugar can cause an increase in the amount of urine produced, resulting in urgency, frequent urination, and possibly incontinence.

People with diabetes may experience bladder problems such as overactive bladder, poor control of sphincter muscles that surround the urethra, urine retention, and urinary tract infections.

Simple treatments—such as diet changes, medicines, bowel training, and exercises to strengthen your pelvic floor muscles—can improve symptoms by about 60 percent. These treatments can stop fecal incontinence in 1 out of 5 people. Your doctor can recommend ways you can help manage and treat your fecal incontinence.

Thank you very much indeed for opening an ocean of information on this aspect. The site refers to:

“Enhanced glucose control methods include more frequent subcutaneous insulin administration, continuous insulin infusion, oral anti-diabetic agents, while lifestyle modifications may include exercise alone, or in combination with dietary modifications”

....Will it be of some help by taking the Diamicrone tablets prescribed twice a day be split into to 4 or 6 times a day? This may solve the prolonged duration for digestions in some cased cited and to spread the supply of insulin continuously.

Capsaicin Cream is one of the items recommended for applications for pains associated with diabetic neuropathy. .....Is it a treatment or a temporary relieving of pain?

…Again…” more frequent insulin use which has been associated with excessive risk of falls” is also indicated!

It raises more questions than answers!

Gliclazide, sold under the brand name Diamicron among others, is an anti-diabetic medication used to treat diabetes mellitus type 2. It is used when dietary changes, exercise, and weight loss are not enough. It is taken by mouth.
