Scientists from the Diabetes Research Institute (DRI) at the University of Miami Miller School of Medicine have developed a method allowing for the long-term culture of "pancreatic slices" to study the regeneration of the human pancreas in real time. The results, published this week in the journal of Nature Communications, demonstrate for the first time that extended cultures of near-intact human pancreatic tissue retain the ability of the live organ to replenish insulin-producing beta cells. The use of this system as a model to study pancreatic regeneration could have important therapeutic implications for the treatment of diabetes.

Pancreatic stem cells have potential to regenerate beta cells. Findings pave way for regenerative cell therapies in type 1 diabetes patients… Scientists have confirmed the existence of progenitor cells within the human pancreas that can be stimulated to develop into glucose-responsive beta cells.

Sprinkle some cinnamon in your meals, tea, or try a cinnamon supplement. insulin production naturally by activating beta cells of pancreas. The corosolic acid present in the leaves induces insulin production and thus controls hyperglycaemia in the blood.

Yes,

I agree. I cooking (pattai in Tamil (BARK)is used, this is sold in UK supermarket, not very expensive (KILLI CEYLON CINNAMON BARK POWDER ).

Cinnamon - Pattai - Gramiyum.

Ceylon cinnamon is a spice with a light yet warming flavour sensation, this is very thin , compared to pattai.

Enjoy boiled Sri Lanka cinnamon water daily for good health.
