It is a fact that our body and all its activities are controlled by brain.I have observed that if you keep brooding on some ailments,you start getting symptoms similar to it.If you keep brooding over your sugar levels,counting fat,carbs, protein, medicines,searching this or that net/forums for medicines etc,you are likely to be affected by complications of diabetes.Diabetes itself is not a disease,it is the reason for various complications in your body,a result of unhealthy life style.If you live your life in a set healthy way,do some excercise,take whatever medicines in time and just DON'T brood over it,and it is my promise you will live a happy life.I have 20 years of experience and believe me,I even don't remember I am diabetic unless someone tells me.

We need to understand T2D clearly. Initial couple of years is very critical. You need to experiment with different foodstuff and take BS spike and PPBS with glucometer. We need to know what is healthy and what is not.
Also, all T2D subjects need to go for HBA1c and other tests yearly once at least. I go for a quarterly tests as my T2D is not even 2 years old. Take less stress and have good physical activities for at least for an hour daily and reduce weight in case of obese T2D and gain weight in case of thin T2D.
six years ago when I was told you are diabetic by GP practice nurse and we have to put you in the diabetic register. Within few days I received a lot of letters, I could not understand this. One of the letter was to do with depression and help. All I did was to bin all of the letters. I am fine after six years, I have accepted it.

I agree with your views. There are some including some yoga teachers who are pre diabeticsbut manage to keep the sugar under control naturally with balanced yogc diet and asanas these are balanced diabetics. Difficult for the common diabetic with difficulty in controlling diet and less variable exercise.
