Dear all, gm, thanks for your cooperation. Pl note the flwg . hba1c -- 6.6. Cholesterol - 159, s. Triglyceride- 126. Hdl cholesterol- 28, vldl- 25.2, ldl cholesterol- 105.8. T.chol/hdl ratio- 5.68. Ldl/hdl ratio- 3.78. Suffering FM type 2 diabetes FM Mar 2017. At present my FBS - 94, and ppbs- 155. My age 51. Brgds skp

Risk of cardiac disease is assessed by dividing the total cholesterol level by the HDL level. Target values are less than 5 for men and 4.4 for women. You have got 6.8 which is very high.

For women, the minimum HDL cholesterol required is 50 mg/dL. Increase your HDL cholesterol by diet and exercise. Consumption of omega-3 fatty acids such as fish oil or flax oil may increase HDL cholesterol.

Your TG/HDL at about 4.5 is bordering on dangerous. Looking at your FBS and your PPBS and given you mention you are not on any medication, indicates enough insulin production to be able to manage your diabetes and atleast keep of meds for the next decade or so. Reduction in processed food and the likes with certainly help and so also some macro nutrient re profiling. Your fasting insulin will give a better indication of where you are in your diabetic journey.
