Ramkrushna ,

Does your mother take shots before each meal or after? Is one of the shots before bedtime? Which brand of insulin did the doctor prescribe? Each insulin has specific instructions on how to and when to take them/it.

Yes, after breakfast , before and after launch ,the same way before and after dinner ...rapid acting insulin and short acting insulin. My father knows the insulin name...but I am worried she may go to DKA which is medical emergency

I feel that you should consult an endocrinologist to rule out thyroid problems. It happens sometimes that other health issues aggravate diabetes.

The body mass index of your mother is 33. Gradual weight loss is recommended to maintain a healthy body weight. Even a small weight loss (just 10 percent of your current weight) will help to lower your risk of developing diseases associated with being overweight. Manage a healthy body weight through exercise and eating right.

Her ideal weight range based on BMI is between 52.21 kg and 70.28 kg

Herr BMI indicates that she is Obese (Class I) and this puts you at a High risk for type 2 diabetes, hypertension, coronary heart disease, stroke, sleep apnea and certain types of cancer.

Your calorie intake must be less than that required for your daily activities.

Less energy dense high volume food reduces your calorie intake at the same time makes you feel full.

Fruits like watermelon, grapes have fewer calories but greater volume.

Include fiber rich food, which takes longer time for digestion thus reducing your hunger.

Whole grains like oatmeal, corn, which are unrefined, help reduce the abdominal fat.

Consult your physician/doctor/dietician to plan a daily exercise schedule involving moderate and vigorous intensity activities to reduce your weight.

Just follow yr doctor(diabetologist)'s advice only, give her medicines as per dr's prescription and strict diet, no carbohydrates pls , walk and do yoga, if she can.

Everyone has to have some carbs. to keep the body and brain functioning the correct way, DAULAT . If you have no carbs., then you can get extremely low blood sugar.
