hi,
we have checked his sugar at home. and he is taking GLYCIPHAGE 1000mg twice a day. he takes alcohol occasionally, like once in a month and sometime he wont.
in the morning he have neem leaves with Curcumin empty stomach
than tea without sugar
he have his breakfast by 10 a.m. or 10.30 a.m. (In breakfast he have two chapati with boiled egg and milk or sometime maggi, besan chilla etc. ) then tablet
lunch by 2.15 (3 chapati with sabji and curd) (in office)
Evening by 7 p.m. (mixture, bhel puri ect. ) (in office)
Dinner by 11.30 (Rice, Dal, sabji and fish) (at home)
then he have tablet after the dinner.
Very high consumption of carbs is the issue hemanandini
It is suggested that he should reduce carbs consumption...
Karela and neem are ok..but better get his liver profile done..
There are many labs like thyrocare etc are doing that at very reasonable rates..
Share those results here for better understanding..
He should reduce his carbs in form of chapti maggie bhelpuri/mixture etc..
I would suggest he may go for almonds.coconut meat etc for snacks...
Instead of roti/chapati he may increase quantity of fish and eggs..maximum two chapatis in full day...No Bhel No puri..no maggi...no rice no sweets no fruits for next atleast 6 months...
walking will also help him lot...
be sure..within 6 months you will find him more healthy and fit...atleast 10 yrs younger...
There are many other members like suramo Hidden Hidden shrisamarth @anup and many others.. in forum who would contribute more...and will guide u further...
pls use AYURVEDA medicine BASANT KUSMAKAR daily one tab with milk

You have not stated which medicine your husband is taking. If he is taking Metformin, please beware of it's side effects. Metformin is generally well tolerated. Common side effects include diarrhea, nausea and abdominal pain.
Low-carbohydrate diets or low-carb diets are dietary programs that restrict carbohydrate consumption, often for the treatment of obesity or diabetes. Foods high in easily digestible carbohydrates (e.g., sugar, bread, pasta) are limited or replaced with foods containing a higher percentage of fats and moderate protein (e.g., meat, poultry, fish, shellfish, eggs, cheese, nuts, and seeds) and other foods low in carbohydrates (e.g., most salad vegetables such as spinach, kale, chard and collards), although other vegetables and fruits (especially berries) are often allowed. The amount of carbohydrate allowed varies with different low-carbohydrate diets.
Ask him to undergo HbA1c test.
Check fasting blood sugar daily till it reaches to a level of less than 100 mg/dL.
Consult your doctor.

Metformin (generic name) Glyciphage (brand name) is used alone or with other medications, including insulin, to treat type 2 diabetes (condition in which the body does not use insulin normally and, therefore, cannot control the amount of sugar in the blood). Metformin is in a class of drugs called biguanides. Metformin helps to control the amount of glucose (sugar) in your blood. It decreases the amount of glucose you absorb from your food and the amount of glucose made by your liver. Metformin also increases your body's response to insulin, a natural substance that controls the amount of glucose in the blood.
In view of the side effects, it is better to reduce the dosage of Metformin by half in consultation with your doctor. Instead, he may walk daily for 45 minutes in the morning.

Over time, people who have diabetes and high blood sugar can develop serious or life-threatening complications, including heart disease, stroke, kidney problems, nerve damage, and eye problems.
Taking medication(s), making lifestyle changes (e.g., diet, exercise, quitting smoking), and regularly checking your blood sugar may help to manage your diabetes and improve your health. This therapy may also decrease your chances of having a heart attack, stroke, or other diabetes-related complications such as kidney failure, nerve damage (numb, cold legs or feet; decreased sexual ability in men and women), eye problems, including changes or loss of vision, or gum disease. Your doctor and other healthcare providers will talk to you about the best way to manage your diabetes.
