Full fat milk contains average 4.5 to 6 grams of carb per 100ml.Now milk with turmeric is good because it contains a chemical called curcumin which is beneficial to health. It contains antibacterial property as well anti fungal property. So I feel that it is not harmful. Thanks.

I am taking metformin. Is it advisable to take turmeric capsule? Does it react with metformin?

Turmeric may lower BSL, however, since you are on Metformin it's advisable to discuss with your doctor before taking. You should also be vigilant checking your BSL before and after so that you are aware how effective of whatever you are taking either medication or herbs/spices like turmeric. In some people may have hypoglycemic conditions from double uses of glucose lowering substances. If you think turmeric would work for you, you may discuss with your doctor to reduce the Medformin strength. What I know is that turmeric is safe to use plus having multiple health benefits to our body. It's recommended to take turmeric with some grounded black pepper to help with effective absorption in our digestive system.

100ml termuric milk is Golden milk for diabetic. Turmeric is good saurce of antioxidant. It removes bad free redicals from the blood. So BSL can reduced. So keep it on.

I take daily:

1/2 cup full fat milk with malai. Add up 1/2 teasp turmeric 1/2 teasp ghee. Some sprinkling of pepper powder. Heat it. Have it before bedtime

Improves fasting

Relief from all bone and joint pains which are usually associated with diabetes

What's malai? Can I use extra vergin coconut oil instead of ghee?

in reply toLuckysugar

Malai = Milk cream

Can use EVCO

Can also slightly heat the above combo in little water and add coconut milk.

Turmeric needs some fat and pepper powder for enhanced absorption

in reply toLuckysugar

Yes

Any of the days if my PP at 1 hr after dinner is more than 130 I skip milk and use coconut milk

That sounds very interesting to hear someone proves that turmeric milk can lead to a good fasting BS. I've heard of its benefits but haven't tried it yet. I normally have good control of FBS by avoiding late meal in the evening. If my PPBS goes a bit up, I will bring it down by doing yoga. I would try this golden milk to find out its effectiveness. Thanks again for your helps.

My fasting progressively got lowered by average of 5gm/dl with:

Golden milk

Milk thistle

Magnesium supplement

From an average of 100 it's now around 85

It keeps varying but 85 is the commonly seen on most of the days now

Wonderful FBS! Do you mean you consume all these three things daily? I am not interested in supplement. I would go for golden milk but why milk thistle? Is this some kind of weed? Can you show me its picture as I am not sure how it looks?

in reply toLuckysugar

Milk thistle for fatty liver. Now stopped. Took 300mg for 6 months.

Mg supplement I take 100mg per day

Golden milk at least 20 days a month

I tried turmeric capsules. They did nothing for my blook sugar or anything else. Then, I tried blueberry capsules by life extension and they made a big difference. My blood sugar this morning was 184, I had a turkey sandwich on thick bread, 2 blueberry capsules, 2 gentle digest, 2 peppermint tablets by obbekjaers. The result was 115 after that bad meal.
