Dear Anup,

Greetings and Happy New Year..!

For the last couple of weeks, I have been fasting for 12 hours and 16 hours. Initial few days of fasting, I had some difficulty to manage; then on its Ok. What I have noticed is my readings were dropping– 90 @ 12hr and 80/77 @ 16 hr. When I have extended the fasting duration to 19 hrs. the reading is 67.!!!

What should I do? Is there anything I need to adjust..? Due to this, I am restricting my fasting duration to 16 hours now. It is really frustrating to check every now and then the BS reading…! FYI – I am not on any diabetic medication.

(Done away in Oct-16)

Your inputs please,

Regards- RamShankar

I will try making changes to my diet by adding fats and proteins. I have added cheese butter and egg and removed rice from my lunch and dinner. Hope this will improve be levels.

Dear Anup,

Greetings,

After practising, 12hr, 14hr,16hr, 19hr fasting; finally I have managed to go through 24 hour fasting. Now a days it was really frustrating to prick my fingers frequently to check readings; this time I have restricted my self not to take too many readings. My reading on the previous night before dinner 84, after 16 hours of fasting 80 and at the 24th hour 71!! I was on water and lemon+water+salt through out. Journey was quite OK; but the last 2 hours prolonged like 24 hours!!!!. FYI - I stick to the LCHF diet and up and until now not venturedinto Rice, wheat etc.

Quick question : Can i include - Strawberry, Black Berry in my diet...? I was given to understand that these will not spike BS. What's your advise?

Only concern is I have lost lot of weight and my GP saying; I am not supposed to lose any more weight. !!!

Regards,

Shankar
