High Fasting Sugar Level

Hi Friends

First of all thanks to all members for valuable suggestions for controlling Diabetes.

I have switched to LCHF diet 3 months back and my HBA1c improved from 8.4 to 6.8 levels and my weight also reduced from 83 to 79 kg.

My PP levels are coming in range of 100 to 130 even random levels are 90 to 120 but my fasting levels are generally high in range of 130 to 160.

I am taking Diamicron Xr max one tablet in morning and Metfort 500 and Onglayaza 5mg in night .

Pl suggest so that I can control my fasting levels also.

  • What exactly are you eating throughout the day?

  • Morning : Tea and 5-6 almonds after 1 hour big bowl of lentil or salad along with medicine.

Around 11: I take Green tea and some 25-30 gms peanut.

lunch: Watermelon, cucumber and papaya big bowl.

evening : tea and some peanuts or roasted Bengal gram.

Late evening: Some times Paneer/chicken Tikka/Chicken seekh ( 2-3 times a week along with 2 alcoholic drinks of 50 ml each no beer )

Dinner: Again big katori of subzi or dal ( try to avoid potatoes) along with medicine.

  • Everything looks good except alcohol IMHO.

Potato, beets, sweet potato should be NEVER.

Peas, Rajma, Carrot, Tomato etc should be limited.

Grains like wheat, rice, maize, corn and its products should be strictly controlled.

Why not try and get off the drinks for a week and see how FBS turns out.

  • Thax a lot for the suggestion I will give it a try.

  • Drugs are always missing in such a food plate. Perhaps they should add MF, STATINS and baby Aspirin also for such a recommendation of High Carb stuff to diabetics.

  • It is long documentary but old as 10 years back science. Please note if you not controlling curb intake you c' not control diabetic.Remember 90% of type 2 diabetic are over weight & And initially they consumed extra carb on daily intake food. And loaded with extra loaded of insulin. Remember normal in our blood has approximately 5-7 gm of sugar exactly 1 tsf of sugar but our lack of dietary knowledge we consuming lots of carb. Therefore you must reduce as you can carb.

  • Problems is that when you day balance diet means combination of carb. Protein. Fat. Etc. People will most confused. When we go one step forward then again pull back is not require. Last 30 years I was confused and followed doctor's advice. But results was worst. But luckily I joined this forum and thank to all of member particularly medfree. I back to normal life. That the reason repeatedly support lchf diet & my aim is to good health for everyone.

    Thanks.

  • Doctors are more interested is selling drugs (for commissions and gifts from pharma industy) rather than improve conditions of diabetics. This is why they disregard LCHF diet vehemently. During early days here on this forum, our suggestions were called "Speculative Blogging" by few those who hated LCHF here. Now that the number of diabetics here have increased to 160, those voices have been muted down, though we do see some off hand remarks against FAT even now, from the likes of indiacratus and rnpath.

Here's the post here "Speculative" term was used (user anup used to be here then till his account got blocked):

  • Yes we knew your fight & struggle since long with no self interest. Really I salute you.

    Thanks

  • hello sharmaji, I am also seeing the same issue. My FBS is pretty high around the same range as yours. What time do you have your dinner and what time do you sleep ? I have dinner around 8:00pm but sleep at 10:30pm or so. If you drink some buttermilk or eat some peanuts at bed time, it seems to reduce the FBS. Try it and let us know how it works for you. This information about night snack was obtained from internet. I am also trying this.

    Thanks.

  • Do not consume food after 7:00 pm. Eat less food more times in a day.

Engage in regular brisk walking for about 30 minutes in a day.
