My Diab was diagnosed in 2006. I started developing & parallely practising LWMDR. When FBS, PPBS & HbA1c remained in normal range even with usual nondiabetic diet, I got an OGTT done. Its lab report was published in my blog at

traplarva.blogspot.in/2009/...

I could not include a copy of the report here. I have included pictures in my previous posts but this time it is NOT WORKING. Please follow the link given above. Your inconvenience is regretted.

A very rare condition where renal threshold for sugar is low and a normal nondiabetic leaks sugar in urine.

Hii Sir pls suggest me how much calorie u were taking to get rid of diabetic I also want to be free frm diabetic

ShooterGeorge in reply to 7708

Hi @ 7708 sir,

I was not bothering about calories of food intake neither those days nor now. THIS DOES NOT MEAN THAT I AM AN UNDEREATER OR OVEREATER.

While in office one colleague asked me during lunch time, this same question. I gave this same answer + I hail from an agricultural family. Then he advised me to be watchful on it.

He died of cardiac arrest two decades ago. We were of similar age; our children were classmates.

During LWMDR also I was not bothering about calories or grams. I WAS TAKING STOMACHFULL of Long Wheat Mash for breakfast & supper and a square meal of rice as lunch.

MY CURRENT BMPI IS > 1.0, HIS IS 0.0. WHAT IS YOURS?

Sir ,please share what is LWMDR

ShooterGeorge profile image
ShooterGeorge in reply to sanjay_padikkal

Hi @ sanjay_padikkal,

LWMDR is the abbreviation of Long Wheat Mash Diet Regimen. You please search the acronym LWMDR in this site or in Google. All details are gicen at both places by myself.

After reading one or both of those, you are wecome to ask more specific questions, if any.

WISH YOU A SPEEDY CURE.

Really good!What is BMPI?

ShooterGeorge profile image
ShooterGeorge in reply to alwaysoptimistic

BMPI is an improved version of the health scale BMI. I developed it as usual for my personal use.

Once I wrote about it here to unfortunstely attract severe criticism.

Now also we Indians are looking for imported knowkedge.

It gives pleasure to me that you have developed improved version of BMI scale and I want to know about it.

We should avoid criticism.A logical discussion contributes in many ways.

Yes,we Indian are dependent to some extent on others for knowledge. We must try for research and development.

These days this site is very UNFRIENDLY to me. Face disruptions during compising.

Alternately tried to compose offline & paste it here. Site s/w does not sllow it. What to do?

A person with 72 kg weight & 1.72 m height has BMI 24.33.

What caught my attention is that IRRESPECTIVE OF WHETHER THE PERSON IS A CURRENT BOXING CHAMPION, 100 M OLYMPIC GOLDMEDALIST, BEDRIDDEN PATIENT OR A DEADBODY, BMI WILL BE 24.33.

To me this does not make any sense.

A few days of thinking gave rise to the concept of BMPI. This also is a health scale as well as a ratio of body parameters. First two are as in the case of BMI height and weight. Third one is power, an approximate representation of PHYSICAL STRENGTH oh the person.

Strength is masured using a conventional mechanical doctor's weight scale. It is the reading shown by the dial by holding the machine by both the hands and squeezing/pressing the platform using all the fingers. Obviously the value will be in kilograms.

BMPI is defined as the result of STRENGTH or POWER MULTIPLIED BY SQUARE OF HEIGHT IN METERS & DIVIDED BY WEIGHT IN KILOGRAMS.

A person with 1.72 m height, 72 kg weight & 30 kg strength or power has BMPI = 1.23.

If the person is sick, ability to press the machine comes down there by the dial showing smaller number.

Strength factor being on the numerator of the formula, the result is DIRECTLY PROPORTIONAL TO ITS VALUE. Hence it is felt that BMPI gives a better picture about the physical health of a person in comparison with BMI.

Nice idea! What is normal range of BMPI?

ShooterGeorge profile image
ShooterGeorge in reply to alwaysoptimistic

I have only data of half a dozen people. This is inadequate to declare a range.

There may be dependance on sex, it is felt.

Mine is1.2, my wife is 0.2, my neighbour has > 1.5, 10 year old grandson has 0.8, his mother has only 0.6.

More data is required for defining ranges.

Agree!

Grip strength is not a good measure of fitness, IMHO. Way better would be 1 rm in squat, since the muscle group involved is much larger, and hence more representative of whole body fitness.

ShooterGeorge in reply to sharada_nbt

In Tamil it has 4 names in 4 parts of TN. Thuusi/Uusi/Samba/Chamba Gothumai.

Hindi name is controversial; hence not mentioning.

Is Blood test for sugar level 1 Hr after the meal conducted for diagnosing diabetes, inspite of normal HbA1C, fbs, ppbs after 2Hrs? I have not seen any doctor asking for 1Hr PPBS. If that has any indication of diabetis, that test also needs to be conducted for everyone. Otherwise it may go unnoticed, like in the case of Mr ShooterGeorge if he is considered to be still diabetic on this 1Hr test basis.

@ yvjanard,

My daughter was suggested PPBS at 1hr also by her gynaecologist during pregnancy.

vyas123 profile image
vyas123 in reply to ShooterGeorge

Seems that is also important in that case, especially for diabetics. The experiences of LCHF people are really revolutionary. Unless people have proven problems with fats, lchf looks like helping. Somehow, lchf is not going well with me. Whenever my fats intake increase, my lipids become quite bad in spite of 2 hr of exercise (1hr walking and 1 hr yoga) and active life style in general.

What are the normal values supposed to be, for 1 Hr PPBS?

That is what I did & failed. I shall keep trying.Thank you for the tip.
