Sir

I explained it earlier but for you i can explain again,as per diet plan i cooked long wheat with 6 times water and salt and cooked in cooker about 1 hour and take it .this is just like we take in childhood as madh bhat.i take it 2 times daily in breakfast and dinner .cooked long wheat as per your weight per gram. imagine my weight is 70 kg i take 60 to 65 gram per time as raw cooked.and in lunch i take roti and vegetables as you like.how it work i do not now but it work.

first of all you have to believe in this and in god

thanks to george sir who invented it.

Actually Wheat, long or short is full of carbs. How it will reduce BS ? Will any body throw light on this ?

Long Wheat wheat is digested slowly hence release of sugar is slow. There was an article about this in The Hindu too. It is also therapeutic.

Yeah. u r right but, its particle size makes hell lot of difference makes deference. i have already done experiments. When ever I ate wheat Suji upma, my BS level use to fall down to hypo glycemia compared to wheat roti and green sabzi for the same dose of medicine. It became further effective when I started taking wheat Dalia. Then I decided to eat whole wheat just boiled in salted water but I could not it as it was making some sound like 'Kach' and it felt like I am eating some insects so I decided to get the special wheat dalia prepared for me as per my instructions. I took the whole wheat to a pulse mill owner and asked him to make wheat pulse for me he was surprised but he did it so one grain is broken in two only. Now I am eating pulao of this along with black gram pulse or sometimes with whole black gram itself. It is so tasty that I can take it as it is my in lunch and dinner both and also along with normal green veg bhuJia made for others. My suger levels which were once recommended for insulin now are controlled with Glycomet GP-1 once daily. Earlier I was taking GP-2 twice daily then also my PP was crossing 180 mg/dl. Now some time I forget my meds in the morning then also my sugar level is maintaining in onrmal range.

If you are diabetic, try LWMDR for a month or two keeping everything else unaltered; you will see that it reduces BS. Even though I had been eating whole grain (non pulverized) cooked in water IT WAS NOT SWALLOWED AS WHOLE GRAIN. It was chewed well before swallowing.

I have some clue in mind about how LW reduces BS, based on the knowledge acquired from knowledgeable members of this forum. To verify it some volunteers who have been diabetic for a long time (preferably on Insulin injection) are needed.

Cooperation of interested members are earnestly solicited.

Anup, that's it. In spite this how it is recommended here as LWMDR. I atleast feel to have my mix vegetable, eggs, curds suits me. And I will following it. MY FBS & PPBS are around 100. I am happy.

dialife in reply toanirudh

Same here. I have it with vegetables and gravy. My FBS is now 90 ( before LWMDR it was 140) and my PPBS now is 100 (previous was 140 to180)

I really really desire that you should have tested HbA1c, Serum Insulin & C-Peptide at the beginning of LWMDR. That would have thrown some more light on the dread disease.

dialife profile image
dialife in reply toShooterGeorge

When I was detected with Diabetes in Jan 2015, HbA1c was 8. Then I was put on Metformin 500 once a day and it came down to 6. Then due to LWMDR my BS fell and I stopped medication per doctors advice. I got my HbA1c checked yesterday and it is 5.4

i am not taking flour just long wheat and cooked it about one hour with salt in cooker.

how it work we do not know.we even do not know how the drug work but it work.

first you can try as raw and measure your pp value after 3 to 4 weeks or even 15 days.

believe in god

All of you who are taking long wheat whole grain boiled in salted water shall have almost same affect if you take normal desi wheat cooked in the same manner. Try it.

Hi ajay8008,

This is my first response after getting my posting right reinstated.

Hearty congratulations for the great results.

PP 78 indicates that Pancreas has regained normal health & is producing sufficient Insulin. But you may have to confirm cure with further tests.

1. First one is the HbA1c. It has to be normal.

2. Second test is Serum Insulin, (preferably) along with PPBS after Starch rich food like Long Wheat Mash, ordinary roti or rice based items (cooked rice, Idli, Dosa, Puttu etc). 1 & 2 may be done with same blood sampling also.

3. If 1 & 2 are okay, take 2 Hr PPBS after Starch rich food+a usual quantity of sweet (like coffee/tea with sugar or fruit or some other dessert).

4. If 3 also is cleared then go for an Oral Glucose Tolerance Test (OGTT) (preferably in consultation with a doctor).

5. If all the above tests are cleared, it is like the plaster of a fractured hand/leg is removed. That means for some more time one has to be gentle/considerate to Pancreas.

Hope your condition makes you happy; it makes me :-)

It is felt that testing FBS/PPBS monthly & HbA1c quarterly is required; else progress (+ or -) will be missed. Later it may turn out to be difficult to correct also.

Sir

i have taken ppbs reading on last friday by glucometer of aqua check it was 100.i will do my testing after 2 weeks because i am busy in my job.

Quite interesting anup ! actually this is the way to follow any practice. Had you tried? I also feel there should not be any appreciable difference between the normal wheat and long wheat however, I have also experienced that it makes difference when you take wheat flour and the whole grain wheat itself. your experiment will sure pave the way. Please share your outcomes.

kanaujiavijay profile image

So... I was wondering why people are frantically searching for long wheat! in fact every wheat is more or less is same like every rice grain long or short. the only probability of long wheat grain to husk volume ratio will be bit lower than the normal wheat due to its thin and long construction. The mantra is, bigger the particle size, lower will be the grain to husk ratio and will benefit more because of:

1. Your carbs intake is reduced and husk(wheat bran) intake is increased.

2. Slow absorption due to bran covering the grain.

3. Wheat bran also provides fiber which helps reducing constipation.

you can eat it like eating rice! particularly for me I was basically a rice eater and had to leave rice due to diabetes. Now this long grain broken wheat pulao is just like rice pulao i am enjoying it.

It has controlled my diabetes like any thing. Once doctor has advised me to go for insulin injections because even Sitalgliptin was not working and now it is being maintained by just one glycomet GP1.

There is BIG difference between LW and ordinary wheat in terms of taste and therapeutic effects. LW is very tasty. One week I did not get LW so made ordinary wheat kanji, it was really bad tasting. Besides, as mentioned in The Hindu and in Ayurveda, LW is therapeutic for diabetes. And I am proof that it works. My FBS is now normal and PPBS is around 100, though I aim to get to 80. I cheated with some sweets and red wine, else my PPBS would also be normal by now.

kanaujiavijay profile image
kanaujiavijay in reply todialife

I am also an example of controlling BS by eating special wheat dalia (one grain just broken in to two) but I am not it plain but cooking with Chana Daal like a pulao using deshi ghee. even then my BS fasting is 98 and PP 140 which earlier used to be 160/260. It is quite tasty too! had I eaten raw boiled in salt, probably results would have been comparable with yours! Taste and other characteristics may deviate a bit but, LW cant deviate 100% of their wheat category.

ShooterGeorge profile image
ShooterGeorge in reply todialife

Had you tested HbA1c, Serum Insulin & C-Peptide before LWMDR?

ShooterGeorge profile image
ShooterGeorge in reply tokanaujiavijay

It is not the size of the grain that matters but the variety. Basmathy rice is different from IR8 not because of their lengths.

kanaujiavijay profile image
kanaujiavijay in reply toShooterGeorge

Dear Sir, I am diabetic since 1988 and have done numerous experimentation on foods and medication. I already mentioned my experience with Upma, then that motivated me to increase the wheat grain size further and see the result. It really gave good result. now with this tasty diet, my meds have also reduced and sugar is absolutely under control as I am having Accucheck Go meter and check my fasting BS twice a week. I will soon get my HbA1c checked but I guess it should be near 6.5. last I got it checked before I started this new diet about 5 months back it was 7.0.

I am not denying the positive effect of LW because if normal wheat NW is having wonder full effect on my BS then LW will definitely have better effect as its carb/ bran ratio will definitely be lower than that of NW.

Further Anup has also done experiment on this issue and his experience is also revealing and corroborates with my experiments.

I read the paper diabetes.org.in/journal/200...

It said: "Dietary modification:

Subjects were informed to

collect the whole wheat flour in the beginning and

once in two weeks thereafter and asked to include

around 200-300g of flour daily in any two meals

(breakfast/lunch/supper), in the form of unleavened

bread for six weeks."

This is not in line with LWMDR specification & hence results should not be compared. This differs from LWMDR on four major points. Hence comparison is invalid.

ANOTHER VERY IMPORTANT POINT NOTED IS THAT WHEN THE FBS & PPBS VALUES BEGAN FALLING, THE STUDY WAS TERMINATED. ANY ONE WITH OBSERVATION CAPABILITY, ANALYTIC MIND & OPTIMISTIC APPROACH CAN NOTICE THIS BY LOOKING AT THE 4TH & 6TH WEEK VALUES given below, cut & pasted from the paper.

THIS STUDY INDICATES THAT EVEN LW FLOUR MAY WORK (not only mash!).

"Table 2: Blood Sugar Profile in Diabetic Patients

During 6-week Study Period

Blood glucose Group I (n=13) Group II (n=9)

Mean+SD Mean + SD

Initial

Fasting 132.6+28.0 137.7+31.3

PP 182.5+52.7 207.9+41.8

2 weeks

Fasting 145.9+36.8 138.6+48.6

PP 198.8+46.4 218.8+72.3

4 weeks

Fasting 149.6+51.2 144.1+58.3

PP 200.2+55.3 202.0+93.9

6 weeks

Fasting 112.4+40.4 148.4+41.3

PP 184.2+54.6 199.0+43.1"

Recently I did experiment with upma made from normal wheat dalia + chana dal. I had same reading as that of LW. around 100. :)

Last year when I compared LW and normal wheat there was diff. of around 20 points. (LW reading was lower.)
