Dear all....as I see there is only one very thin hope to get cured of this deadly thing....DIABETES....is New castle experiment.....
I am going to give try for the same...
As there is one ashram near Pune,at urali kanchan. They give you all naturopathy.Basically fasting and low calorie food.I was there for 21 days in 2003. Fasted for about 7 days only on lemon water. I am going to get admitted at same place again for 30 days.
Planning to do this in August or September??? For entire month of June I will traveling in Europe.. So after that atleast for some time I won't get holidays....
I am going to get my liver scanned for fats.(I am already diagnosed for Non Alcoholic Fatty Liver.) After completion of my stay at ashram again I will do the same.
Going to check my FBS everyday...PP sugar levels will not matter as I will be only fasting...lol...
Who else wants to join???
Let us give this a try???

Already on low carb diet....Thanks to Anupjee....However on Low carb normal fat diet...As I understand fats are added to make up for calories deficit....and also for satiety....
I am feeling fully satisfied with low carbs....(3 small chapatis in full day....rest all green veg salads...and Usal and 2/3 times in week Fish+eggs)
I am trying to cut down on calories ,As want to create deficit on calories for weight reduction.
LCHF is no doubt is most wonderful approach to control blood sugar. And this forum is most enlightening.
But what about cure??
New castle is only and only last thin hope to get cure...why not give it a try???
Your are 110% right dude.....I agree with you.....and I am already on low carb diet and almost no medicine....instamet 50-500 just half per day....plus metformin.....in mid of Jan 2016 my HBa2c was 13.5...opps....and on 15th march 2016 ...just in 2 months..it was 8. something reduced medicines..feeling healthy.....lipids improved...D3 almost double...and whopping 30 points increase in testosterone....
This all just because of low carb diet and exercise.
I know that intermittent fasting (true fasting and not fasting on sabudana khichadi, upvas potato bhaaji etc.) is beneficial for both diabetics and non diabetics. But 30 days of fasting sounds pretty drastic.
I would like to make one comment about your version of low carb, low fat diet. If it works for you in maintaining and reducing bs levels great. But in general the additional fat is not just for filler. You see the ratio of carb:Fat:protein is important. There is no magical formula that works for all. We all need to figure out an optimal ratio for us but the guidelines apply e.g. in LCHF keep carbs < 20%, proteins < 25% etc. If you are trying to reduce caloric intake, adjust your daily intake for less calories but maintain the ratio.
the starving or fasting is not new to people living in india. all religion recommends fasting either weekly once or twice, monthly programmes etc.
the new generation which is born after the industrial revolution and mass production era, has seen this epidemic. when people lived as farmers in agrarian societies. the problem was insignificant due to their lifestyle.
first the stress start at school for securing marks, then pressure in the society for competition and success, and no time for young generation to do physical activities(most are glued to gadgets).
pls go back to our tradition and whatever is good try to adhere strictly for better living.
pl.provide the details thereof i.e transportation from pune to Asramand the daily expenses of stay or give full address and e mail id if any as i an interested to be there.
Search began for a proper place around Pune. Late Shri. Balkoba Bhave, Dr. Mehta, Dr. Sushila Nair, Dr. Manibhai Desai came to Uruli Kanchan. To their disappointment they found that social atmosphere was not conducive for establishing a Nature Cure Center, but Gandhiji insisted that he wanted the village like Uruli, because unless he is able to improve condition of rural India, he will not be able to work at Delhi for independent India.
Gandhiji came to Uruli Kanchan on 22nd March 1946 at 16.00hrs. and stayed for up to 30th March 1946. He treated hundreds of patients with the help of Dr. Mehta, Balkobaji Bhave, Manibhai Desai , Dr. Sushila Nair and other disciples. On 30th March 1946, Mahatma Gandhi departed for Delhi for the final negotiations with British Government regarding Independent India. Gandhiji founded Nisargopchar Gramsudhar Trust on 1st April 1946, with the help of kind donations in the form of Land by local people like late shri Mahadev Tatyaba Kanchan. The team under the dynamic leadership of Manibhaiji preached sound health and hygienic practices and also studied various problems in rural areas and identified suitable solutions to uplift the rural poor.
Over last fifty years the Ashram has made remarkable progress. The institute has set up the unique example in the field of Naturopathy i.e. “The way of Life”. People from every corner of India and abroad come here and experience the miracles of the unique drugless holistic approach for management of chronic functional diseases. Patients suffering from Arthritis, Cardio Vascular diseases, Diabetes, Bronchitis, skin diseases, Asthma. Digestive and Gynaecological problems, Neuro muscular disorders & obesity are very well managed by simple ways of nature cure. Day in the Ashram begins with prayer & yoga and ends with prayer. Thus along with other physical treatments, psychological and spiritual aspect is taken care of to make the treatment complete.
Every day lectures on nature cure principles, dietetics, yoga and various chronic diseases are arranged to educate the patients and make them aware about the importance of laws of nature. Round the year Ashram has indoor capacity of 200 patients per day.
The capacity is only for 200 indoor patients....Hence we have to book well in advance.
if you look at the fees.....it is almost negligible.....very suitable for Indian conman man.
I have stayed there....and hence 2nd option vyakti niwas is good. Costing about Rs.165 per day.Plz do not expect any star luxury.....
besides room rent food expenses and daily massage charges extra.Food you can say about Rs.100 per day and I don't know what daily current massage charges .When I stayed there it was Rs.20 per day.
You may go thru the link...even you can call them directly....you can pursue on your own...
But my point is that if more and more people join....we can do a joint effort and motivate each other. Also collective data of a group will be much more helpful than individual data.
