I am 60 years old, housewife, type 2 diabetic for 20 years. Taking Reclemet 500 mg twice (30 minutes before B/F and dinner) and Januvia 100 mg once 30 minutes before B/F. Along with calcium and multivitamin tablets. My FASTING SUGAR LEVEL was 180 & PP 230, one month back. I started taking LWMDR strictly as per Shooter George's advice. I check my sugar levels almost every day. I find the FASTING SUGAR LEVEL is around 135 to 140 and PP is 160 even after 30 days of very strict LWMDR. I go for walking and do yoga every day. Lunch little boiled rice with sambar and vegetables at home. Once in a week lunch (meals) taken outside in restaurant, quantity less. My worry is why the FASTING SUGAR LEVEL is not reducing and always hovering around 140. Is my progress ok? Please advise. Only PP has shown improvement. I take LWMDR porridge with vegetables for breakfast and dinner mostly. Once a week, long wheat dosa or Adai for dinner instead of porridge. Is there any change I should do in my diet?.

Why don't you altogether cut out the rice and Potato based Sambar etc and adhere strictly to items without Rice, potato, tapioca and other tubers which grows beneath soil. More discipline in selection of food and your regular walk ought to bring down the Sugar level in couple of months. I have my own experience in my diabetic life.

I take couple of Chappathis for breakfast, Long wheat (and a spoonful of Fenugreekseeds) mash for lunch and dinner with regular morning walk for 4 kilometers. I was detected with diabetes when I was 49 and now running 76.Any hike in sugar level is controlled by a minimum possible dose of HumInsulin 50: 50.

Dear Jayramgvk,

Went trough your note with keen interst as I am also a diabetic since last ten years and have started on LWDMR as per Shooter George's advice since last two months. Though I do not wish to elaborate now much on the subject I wish to point out that after taking to LWMDR method of dieting there is considerable improvement on my diabetic conditions. Whereas my FBS and PPBS were in the range of 160 and 250 respectively, I have now found that it could be brought down to he range of 80 and 130 respectively. I have not so far changed my intake of medicines and medicines along with my adapting LWMDR. Also another thing is we have to strictly ensure that we take long wheat kanji both for breakfast and dinner, and In case we happen to take at any time else or during morning and/or evening any other food or snacks the BS values will go higher.Anyway I am quite optimistic that LWMDR will relieve me of the illness in a much better way than modern medicines.

In fact I would like to present in this forum for the kind attention of my fellow members and Mr George certain other points of observation for the sake of better use and results out of this system of treatment after analysing the outcome it for a few more days. I am a strict vegetarian
