Diabetic retinopathy can be detected through fundus. Consult an eye specialist. It can be treated if detected early. Diabetics are advised to get their fundus checked every 6 months. I had this complication but was treated by laser and am all right now.
keep your sugar in control and get your eye checked up yearly by a good ophthalmologist.

Diabetic retinopathy results from damage to blood vessels of retina . Retina is light sensitive lining at the back of eye . Damaged blood vessels leak blood and other fluids that cause swelling of retinal tissues . It leads to vision disturbances like spots in the field of vision, blurred vision , dark spots in the centre of vision . If glaucoma develops then there may be pain in eyes. Retinopathy develops in both the eyes.
Strict and continued control of blood sugar to prevent or delay it. High fat in blood may lead to damage of retinal blood vessels.
