No doubt, diabetes can become a big problem if you are careless and scared of it.On the other hand with careful management of your life style, you can lead a healthy and long life with out complications.I am a diabetic since more than 20 years and doing reasonably well at 73.So,there is no need for you to get depressed.I am sharing below my experience as a diabetic.I hope it will be useful to you.

Diabetes is a metabolic disorder which is a result of the pancreatic gland in

our body either producing little or no insulin or the body has developed resistance to insulin. In both cases, the body cells do not receive the glucose needed for production of energy because insulin is essential for glucose to enter the cells. This results in the blood sugar levels to increase beyond acceptable levels, though your body cells are starved for glucose. This condition is very bad for our well being and over long term may result in severe complications.

Controlling blood sugar levels is a tough job but it is not impossible if you realize that everything is in your own hands. This is so,because though you may get good advise from doctors and dieticians,it is ultimately Y O U that will have to take all the necessary steps to successfully control diabetes. I am giving certain general suggestions based on my personal experience which you may consider and adopt based on your personal choice.

Diet plays a very important role in managing diabetes. You should reduce intake of foods that are rich in carbohydrates like sweets, rice, wheat, other grains ,potato, beet and other root vegetables rich in starch. You should eat more of vegetables, sprouts, greens and salads that give you lot of fiber, vitamins and minerals. Each meal you take should be smaller but you may have 5 or 6 meals instead 3 meals a day.

Exercise is very important to control diabetes. Daily brisk walking for at least 40 to 60 minutes is ideal. Such exercise will consume lots of energy and sugar levels come down accordingly.

Mental stress aggravates diabetes. Lead a stress free life by adopting relaxation techniques like music meditation, yoga and breathing exercises.

Consult a diabetologist and get prescribed for medication(even insulin) if necessary and comply with the doctor's advise scrupulously.

Please remember that the most important person in managing your diabetes is Y O U.

It's sad to say but my doctor looks at me like I'm a Cash Cow. He doesn't want me well and sugar free! If he had his way I would swallow 10 pills a day! I refuse to do that! Most are toxic to my liver! Some have horrible side effects! He told me "I know your body inside and out don't doubt what I know!" I told him "You are right but you don't live in my body I do."

@Zubda ,

Doubt whether any one across the planet can advice you on getting rid of Diabetes.

All the same check out below. It might perhaps be helpful to you.

That apart, don't feel depressed. There is nothing to be depressed about, It ( Diabetes ) is just something that has come in to your life. Learn to make it your friend & be in control and you will find you will lead a much a healthier and happier life than the Non-Diabetics around you. Just put a smile on your face which is coming from the bottom of your heart as you deal with your daily life and the people around you and you will find Diabetes doesn't matter at all.

Thanks :) :) :)

Keep your carbohydrate intake between 10 and 14 portions per day (1 portion = 10g carbohydrate), ideally 3 meals x 4 carb portions. Follow this link

Eat low GI carbs, reducing intake of fructose too which glycosylates haemoglobin seven times as much as glucose. Follow this link

Make up the balance of your meals with natural, additive-free, unprocessed protein (palm-size or less) and fat foods such as meat, poultry, fish, seafood, eggs, cheese, nuts, avocado, coconut, palm oil (not hydrogenated), olive oil, double cream and butter.

carefully watch this 1 1/2 hour video on reversing diabetes. well done research worth learning about and you will feel like new. my brother followed this and does not need to take insulin. he keeps his numbers perfect. good luck and healthy living.

As long as serum Triglyceride is under control T2dm may not be that critical. High sugar and high Triglyceride is detrimental.

Don't worry too much

Follow the principals of less earning and more burning

If you worry for anything you will get higher diabetes

I am 74 got my diabetes at the age of 30 now having almost 45 years

Diabetes is not a disease..!! It is a condition to be managed. If it is not managed properly, it will be fatal. I am a diabetic patient for the past 20+ years. I remain healthy by managing the sugar levels and keeping that under control. Pl join a diabetic centre and follow their advise rigidly and there will not be any problem. Get rid of your anxiety, tension , Stress and Be Cheerful.
