My opinion of Mannitol

If enough Mannitol gets in your blood stream to do any good, your gut is probably too porous and you should see a doctor about “leaky gut”. As for me Mannitol is a laxative.

"Or" maybe it flushed out the bacteria eating your Levodopa - Like when I was on antibiotics and didn’t need any L-dopa for a month (didn't/haven't got up to previous dose).

I take two capsules of Mannitol for reoccurring UTI's. Haven't had a UTI in months after beginning the mannitol. Prior to that I was getting one every two months or so. I don't have PD but my husband does. He uses the powder form and could smell a rose today. hmmmm that's new!

I think it might work by providing a substrate for good bacteria to live on so doesn’t need to get into your blood for that.
