I have been using vsl3 for around 5 years, which I use to get on prescription but now they have stopped that so need to buy them at £40 box of 30. I was taking two sachets a day so that is £80 a month which struggle to afford. My neighbour told me about this probiotic granules as she had UC from her 20s and is now 72. She used this and came off all her meds and appears completely cured, she swears by using this alongside an organic and low sugar diet. I have had the disease since 2006 I'm am now 62 and take azathraprine, and mezzazline. Plus I have a drip infliximab every 8 weeks. These drugs have changed my life for the last 7 years after I had a major flare up in 2014. I believe my remission was helped not only by the drugs but also the probiotics and I also no longer work to keep stress low. However since feb this year Ive been having a relapse and am wondering how much that has to do with lockdown and stopping the probiotics due to finances. My tests showed cmv colitis which I did have before in 2014 and that had been treated but inflammation worse. Im awaiting change of meds. However my main point here is I massively believe probiotics help so will be getting again. The VSL3 I was taking I'm gonna switch to Vivimix as it's been discovered that VSL3 have been trading under the Dr who invented it after he left that branding and so the product isnt what it was apparently. I'm am going to try Vivomixx same price more or less. I'm praying once I'm back on the probiotics I will start to improve.

Hi Maduza - I was diagnosed with ulcerative colitis in 2006. Initially, I was tried on prednisone then on several other prescriptions, but couldn't get my UC under control. I changed gastroenterologists in 2016. My current gastro doc started me on Infliximab in 2019. Now, I'm on Remicade (Infliximab) infusions every six weeks. Although not perfect, as long as I stay away from my triggers (fatty foods, red meats, and pork) I can eat most other things and I can leave the house at 9:00 AM and not have to think about using a bathroom until 7:00 PM or later. Remicade has given me my life back. I have been taking Phillips Colon Health probiotic for 15 years and have no idea if it helps me or not. I wish you the best. -Paul
Have never heard of that probiotic. But yes it's very hard to know what difference they make when on drugs. However mine certainly aren't enough in their own like my neighbour bit certainly can't do any harm infliximab certainly changed my life the same as you say but has stopped working now after 7 years of normality. Do you also take azathraprine tablets alongside the drip , I was on both my consultant said they support the drip as it doesn't work as well on its own.!
