Just after a little bit of advice/people’s experience.
Been having trouble since early August. Started with constipation, now it’s a mixture of loose stools/constipation. Had regular heartburn in that time, mild abdominal pain that comes and goes and a bit of blood in stool (could be from straining when constipated).
Blood tests so far have been normal, but my FC was at a level of 330. Been referred to a GI, although my GP is not concerned and described the level as moderate. Seems high to me!
Just wondered what people’s FC levels were when they first diagnosed? I’ve sort of resigned myself to the problem being IBD, mainly because of that high level.
Thanks,

Can't help really but don't go before your worries. I'm in a similar situation as you. I've been having stomach issues since Feb, calpotrectin was over 600. I was referred for urgent colonoscopy which was normal, although biopsies showed inflammation, but have been told that it's not colitis. Now waiting for the results of second calpotrectin to see if levels have returned to normal. Strange thing is that I am constipated first thing in the morning and anything after that is diarrhoea, really strange. Good luck, xX
Thanks for the reply and sorry to hear of your troubles.
I’m a doom and gloom merchant at the best of times, so the high result I’ve had isn’t helped. Having searched quiet a bit, I can’t see what else it could be.
I know I'm a bright one but try and keep away from Dr Google. I'd convinced myself of all sorts. I know many people on these sites have had really high calpotrectin levels and it still turned out to be IBS. I'm sure you will feel much better once you have had a colonoscopy and if it does turn out to be Crohn or colitis they will be able to give you treatment. At the moment with me the consultant says that it's non specific inflamation. I'm really glad that the colonoscopy was normal but I would be much happier if I knew what was causing it, good luck and I hope that everything works out, Xx
Up to 50 is regarded as normal. 50 - 200 is mildly raised (so says my Gastro doc) and anything above that, as far as into the thousands, needs investigation for IBD as a possibility. It could be an infection if it's short-term, perhaps.
My consultant doesn’t like when my FCP goes over 100 I have crohns. Before being diagnosed mines was over 400 GP told me that was moderate when I was referred. I asked the consultant when I seen him if 400 was alright he said normal is below 100. I’d wait to speak to the GI team as sometimes GP’s say one thing and consultants say the right thing.
